The First Amendment should be respected, but there's no place for tolerating this socially in a civilized society. Kudos to the parents who complained about this, although they apparently were not Obama supporters themselves it quite properly did not stop them from taking action. And shame on the local TV reporter for acting as if who you supported in the election should have any effect on your reaction to what happened on the bus.
More after the break.
The actions of these kids are of course heavily influenced by their parents, and are eerily reminiscent of the controversial news reports that many Dallas, Texas public school students originally cheered at the news that President Kennedy had been shot on November 22, 1963. The dispute over whether this actually happened continues, but so does the stain on the reputation of Dallas as a result, rightly or wrongly.
UPDATE: Thanks to unterhausen for pointing out that I am terribly late, this news story itself from Idaho was already diaried here and here.
