All over the US, extreme right wing reactionary conservative fundamentalist racist swine are viciously striking out at people of color, in specific, and Obama supporters in general, in what may prove to be just the opening salvos of counter-revolutionary civil war.
Media and government "analysis" (spin) is that such spikes in violence and threats of violence always occur in the wake of controversial elections, and are nothing to be unduly concerned about, as reprehensible as they may be.
But history proves otherwise. The US may actually be on the brink of civil war, and it could get really ugly if the traitors are not immediately, thoroughly, and resolutely suppressed.
Historically, it has never been the left that brought civil war. Revolution is based on popular democratic demands for justice and...democracy.
Indeed, democracy is the most fundamental revolutionary concept.
It's always the treasonous anti-democratic right that precipitates civil war, in direct response, and in direct proportion to, that popular democratic mandate, anywhere.
And what makes us think we are so exceptional here in the US, that we are going to be able to avoid that ultimate showdown?
After all, it happened before, and the traitors were never really decisively suppressed. Reconstruction was stopped in it's tracks, and replaced with Jim Crow.
(insert here historical analysis of the resistance to FDR's "new deal", which included serious threats of civil war at that time, and eventual capitulation to the forces of capitalism around WW2...a totally contrived conflict generated by US industrialists' support for the fledgling nazi state and Hitler, to sic like a mad dog on the fledgling revolution in Russia...see subsequent warnings by Eisenhower, about the "military-industrial complex")
And to this day, racism, sexism, eco-rape, corporate rip-off and imperialist war remain the entire material basis of our socio-economic system: capitalism, and it's moribund form, fascism.
We came back to the brink, in the late '60's and early 70's, when the nation became so polarized over popular democratic demands for racial justice, womens' rights, protection of the environment, and an end to criminal corporate scams and imperialist wars of domination that the two major parties split into polar opposite camps over these issues.
Our president and his brother, and many others of the most respected and articulate popular democratic leaders were assassinated, one after another. Protest and resistance were brutally suppressed. Those who took up arms to resist these attacks were killed or locked up in prison.
The counter-revolutionary Republican traitors seized the political power by hook and by crook, and asserted a totally contrived, absolutely bogus "swing to the right" among a supposedly "inherently conservative, center-right" population, which they continue to lie their ass off about, to this day.
(if the recent election is not enough proof to the contrary for you on this issue, see this report:)

Explicitly declaring "cultural war" and "revolution" (counter-revolution) "against the government and the left", the right rhetorically presided over a major surge in brownshirt nazi domestic terrorism against the general population, when Carter and Clinton took back the power for the Democrats and attempted to press the revolutionary agenda for justice and peace, to save the planet.
No longer "politically correct" in their "own" country, the right had to brazenly steal the "elections" to reassert their traitorous counter-revolutionary, anti-democratic agenda for the laxt 8 yearx.
An important element of that counter-revolutionary campaign has been long-term COINTELPRO-style infiltration of virtually all opposition movement formations, to inject cynical, defeatist, absolutist idealistic rhetorical faux "revolutionary" posing and posturing against participation in the electoral arenas, to suppress voter turnout...which has, in fact, been the only way the right has been able to maintain it's strangle hold on the power.
But the peoples of this great nation have rejected that nonsense, and "voted with their feet", marching to the polls in record numbers to refute fascism, and demand revolutionary change.
The enemies of democracy will fight to the death, to preserve their privileges. Are we ready and willing, are we able, to stand up to this, or will the US just go down in history as one more failed empire, destroyed by it's own greed, injustice, and lust for power?
It's on you, brothers and sisters.
While the right is not completely monolithic in it's analysis on exactly how or when to precipitate civil war, the following article makes it clear what their ultimate agenda is...
