Clearly, when it came time to deciding the action to be taken against Lieberman for his betrayals, there was information that was not considered. One article sums it all up...
Mr. Lieberman's actions, in the official view, are merely the latest demonstration that he does not really belong in the Democratic Party. One Obama advisor declared Lieberman "quirky," and Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean derided Lieberman as "very conservative." Appearing on CNN's Larry King Live Thursday night, a top Obama political advisor called Lieberman "disingenuous," and implied that Lieberman's actions were unprincipled. "There's a lot of conversation around this town and we'll see -- about committee chairs and deals and bargains and pledges," he said.
That's telling him!! Except....
I changed the story -- every single name. This was about Jim Jeffords, the Vermont Republican who was kneecapped by Rove and company in 2001 for not being supportive of the Bushies, and who then promptly abandoned the Republican party, and turned over the Senate to us.
Look, obviously what Lieberman did was far worse than anything Jeffords ever considered. But Rove and Company played "with us or against us" and dined out on pettiness and revenge.
We are better than Rove. We encourage dissent. WE HAVE THE COURAGE OF OUR PRINCIPLES THAT ALLOWS US NOT TO RESORT TO VENGEANCE.
Let Lieberman have his chairmanship. He's not worth the teeth grinding. Let the voters of Connecticut deal with him.
