The first returns in the Minnesota recount have begun to come in and the results are surprising. At least, to me. Neither Coleman nor Franken are gaining votes. So far they have both lost votes.
Coleman -55
Franken -61
That's a net loss of 6 votes for Al Franken on Day #1.

Keep in mind, most of the counties have not been recounted at all, and the larger counties may have only counted 4% or 5%. There's no explanation where the votes are going. They might be addition errors, or votes for Barkley that were given to another candidate. Who knows? Maybe they'll provide information at a press conference later on.
Almost all of my information about Minnesota comes Garrison Keillor and the Coen Brothers. So clearly I have a warped perception of the State. Of the 87 Counties in the State, Franken only leads in 22, which gives you sense of the size of the Republican presence in this "Democratic" State.
Here's a link to the Star Tribune that is providing a daily update on the recount as it progresses.
