Planning on staying home this Thanksgiving?
Are you are a Progressive College Student who made up an excuse not to go home because you don't feel like dealing with your Republican Relatives , but want Thanksgiving Dinner that tastes like home? Are you a young childless single adult who's family lives clear across the county and you can't afford to fly back and you sure as hell don't want to stay at their place if you could?
Have you done all you could for your fellow man in need this Thanksgiving by volunteering and helping others , but you still would like to sit down to a nice big meal and stuff your face even though you know you cant cook worth jack smack ? Well, if you answered yes to any of those questions, I have good news for you. There's hope. You can have your Thanksgiving Dinner and eat it too. Here are some easy to make , fool proof , self explainable dishes that you can put together to make your own little Thanksgiving Dinner.
- Grocery Store bought Rotisserie Chicken (You don't even have to cook it)
- Betty Crocker 100 % Mashed Potatoes in a box that you add milk and butter to.(whatever flavor you like)
- Heinz Homesyle Gravy in the Jar (chicken flavor to go with chicken)
- Del Monte canned vegetables (get the ones you like)
- Ocean Spray Cranberry sauce in the can (jelled or jam-like)
- Your favorite Dinner Rolls
- Velveeta Shells and Cheese (or whatever you eat)
- Pick an easy dessert like Duncan Hines Oven Ready No Cleanup Brownies and a can of whipped cream to top )
- Eggs , Mayo , Mustard , Paprika , for the Deviled Eggs (If you don't have these items in the fridge already)
- Ginger ale and a bottle of WHITE Wine. One for Dinner and the other is for the hangover.
Put it all together and in about one hour , you have your very own single Thanksgiving Dinner without the odd looks as you go back for seconds or thirds and without having to try a dish you don't like and pretend it's delicious in front of the person who made it only to expose the truth after you have had a few drinks.
And for the Diary Police who would suggest that this has nothing to do with promoting the Democratic Party or the causes we Progressives fight for every day, please be gentle. I mean , it's Thanksgiving and given the state of our Economy, this may be the last Thanksgiving any of us ever have for years to come.
