Isn't it ironic that John McCain used that phrase "We are all Georgians Now," and I get to use it for our endeavor to keep Saxby Chambliss home?
Coordinating with the terrific campaign workers for Jim Martin, I am heading from Sarasota to southern Georgia to help GOTV. I am leaving early Monday morning and I'd like to take several Florida kossacks with me in my Windstar van. So, this diary is a call to action for any kossack on the west coast of Florida to let me know if you would like to join me.
Destination: Macon, 6-1/2 hours from Sarasota. I have housing offered from the campaign staffer, but I would have to find out if there is room for my riders. Otherwise, we can find some reasonably priced hotel/motel rooms.
I plan to get to Macon early afternoon and get right to work. Will GOTV all day Tuesday and then hightail it home Tuesday night.
If you are interested, I will pick you up on the way. My email is in my profile (no big secret ~ I have nothing the gubmint would be interested in, thankfully), so please contact me!
I am not asking for any donations or even cost sharing, except for your room (if needed). I am going anyway and I'm just glad that gas is a lot cheaper right now.
And if you can't make this trip with me, please consider phonebanking from home using this tool. And if you can help the campaign financially, please donate.

I am a professed political neophyte, so I wasn't aware of the dispicable campaign Chambliss ran against Max McClelland until I heard about it here at Dailykos. That made me sick and is enough in my book to keep him from re-election.
As others have said in numerous diaries, the best method to get Jim Martin in the Senate is by getting out the vote. We need to convince even those Obama voters in Georgia who didn't vote for Senator on November 4th how very important it is to elect Jim Martin so he can help Obama get things done.
I hope you can join me in this effort, in one way or another. Thank you for reading my diary.
