We here in California have been doing our part for Jim Martin, phone banking to Georgia like crazed weasels. In the last couple of weeks, we've made over 60,000 phone calls. But a lot folks can't take time off from work today or tomorrow to go to a phone bank.
That's OK, because there's still a way for you to help. And it'll only take an hour of your time.

The feedback we've gotten so far has been amazing. Every voter we've contacted has committed to making their voice heard on Election Day. The more voters we contact, then better chance Jim Martin has. Remember, the polls mean nothing, turnout is everything.
We hardly had to tell that to 108 year-old Nannie Haygood from Culloden, GA, a life-long Democrat who proudly told a volunteer she'd be driving herself - and 4 of her best friends - to the Culloden City Hall and Fire Department to vote on Tuesday.

Can you commit 60 minutes? Especially on Election Day? Georgia is 3 hours ahead of us and their polls are open from 7am to 7pm local time, so the best time would be to call first thing in the morning before you go to work.
Can you commit to waking up an hour earlier than normal Tuesday so you can make phone calls? How about shifting your morning workout to the evening?
Isn't healthcare reform, a clean environment, 2.5 million new jobs and sustainable, renewable energy worth an hour of your time?

TIPS FOR CALLING GEORGIA
LEAVE MESSAGES: Most, if not all, the people you'll be calling are known Democrats who voted for Martin before. Feel free to leave a message reminding them to vote on Tuesday (polls are open from 7am to 7pm) letting them know where their polling place is, that they need to bring a photo ID with them, and encouraging them to bring other friends and family with them.
TALK TO OTHERS IN THE HOUSEHOLD: If the person you're trying to reach isn't there, but you talk to someone else in the household, give them all the same information you would if you were leaving a message on a machine.
ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION: If the person hasn't mailed in their absentee ballot yet, they must bring their ballot with them to their polling place and vote in person. They will have to cancel their absentee ballot in the the manager's presence.
