I was a SUPER HUGE, BIG TIME EVER, NUMBER ONE FAN of Obama.  I read all his emails, I wore an Obama T-shirt, I even told a friend or two about him.  I drank the Obama kool-aid till I puked like a slushy machine.  On November 4th I pissed my pants with joy and stayed up to 1:00 am (YES in the morning...ON a work night) to celebrate the coming of the new Messiah.

But I now stand crushed and disillusioned.

It started the next day.  On November 5th, you know what happened?  NOTHING.  Not one God Damn CHANGE!!  Bush was still President, the economy still sucked and girls still wouldn’t give me their real phone numbers.

Now I am not one of those fair weather supporters.  I am LOYAL with a capital EL.  I hung in there.  I kept saying "he’ll turn it around, he’ll come through".  But he didn't.  Change didn’t come.  Nothing was different.  The kicker?? It started SNOWING on November 30th .  I mean, if even the freak’n weather was going to suck, what was the point of supporting Obama?

Ohhhh...the disappointment.  Oh my President elect Obama has crushed my spirit, disillusioned me of my ideals, caused me to break out in zits and generally ruined my life.

I expected him to magically produce highly qualified, highly respected and completely knowledgeable people who knew everything there was to know about running government yet who had never actually ever been in government.  I had NO idea he would choose people for his cabinet who had served in government during the Bush , Clinton, Bush, Reagan years.  I mean WTF???  He can’t find someone who wasn’t in government over the past 30 years??  Is there no one who doesn’t know George Bush or Bill Clinton or George Bush or Ronald Reagan from a hole in the ground who could be Secretary of State? Or Defense?  Or Treasury Sec?

God....more of the same old same old.  Politics as usual.  It isn’t who you worked for its what you know.  Typical.

Makes me sick.  Next time I’m supporting a real change candidate who will back real change and really change things by picking real change people to make the real change change.   I was speaking to him yesterday in a bar in fact.  Now this guy REALLY knows what he is talking about.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
