Karl Rove defends Bush http://www.huffingtonpost.com/...
and rewrites history
We all knew that these folks would try to change history. Hell, they changed the present. So let's all write our memories and the facts as we know them of the last 8 years, so they'll be no chance of these Muther F'ers distorting what really happened...
These are my memories:
They started a war for a reason that is unknown to us. We can speculate. They said it was because Saddam could launch a WMD to strike the US in 45 minutes. On the east coat people were buying tape and plastic to protect them (that was a joke). WMD's probably another Frank Luntz buzz word field tested for fear and confusion. The intelligence told them Saddam wasn't a threat so they lied to us. Perhaps it was only the oil or just the power of controlling the world via Iraq and the Middle East, so they lied to us. Who knows it wasn't just a game of RISK? They lied to us. They lied to us!!! That is the history that needs to be told. They knew what they were doing. They knew what they wanted to do. They just needed to manipulate enough voters by fear. The sick part is they were successful. Don't ever think they were incompetent. They accomplished every distortion of democracy that could be accomplished in 8 years. Bush isn't even finished. Daily he pushes policies intertwining them so that the next administration has a difficult time undoing them.
We watched:
Unfunded "no child left behind,"
Cutting of programs like Head Start and AmeriCorps,
Environmental safe guards dropped,
Tax benefits for the purchase of gas guzzling ¾ ton vehicles
Unprovoked war,
Torture of prisoners,
Breaking of the military,
Opposed to support for veterans,
Opposed to CHIPS program,
Silencing of oppositional view points,
Wasteful military contracts,
Outing of a CIA agent,
People begging for water in New Orleans during Katrina,
Complete indifference to Katrina victims and New Orleans,
World disdain,
Deregulation everywhere,
The war on science,
Lying all the time,
Took us from a surplus to an economic disaster,
Always dividing us,
And on and on.
Many recognized that as a nation our government was on the precipice of becoming a country unfamiliar to us. Not only was our government unfamiliar but scary. For years we raised objections and often felt ignored by the majority of people.
We needed Obama to win this election if there would be any hope for our democracy. We wondered if enough votes could be garnered to turn this country around. So much was riding on this election that actual victory was something which we dared to hope.
What I know: Their Revisionism of history will not survive because we won't let it. So let's make a record here and now. Please join me with your memories.
