After reading this article  http://www.afro.com/... I conceded that this was the ultimate betrayal by one of our own.

Picture the scene from Julius Ceasar where he was betrayed by the ones closest to him and the final blow that came from Brutus served as the ultimate betrayal. This is what comes to mind when I think of CLARENCE THOMAS.

....in a highly unusual move, U.S Associate Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has asked his colleagues of the court to consider a lawsuit filed, that questions Barack Obama's citizenship.

David Souter rejected the petition but now the court has scheduled a December 5th conference just before thw Electoral College meeting slated for Dec 15th.

...this is where it hurts the most...The irony here is, the high court's only African American is bringing the matter to the forefront, pending the certification of Barack Obama (THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN President)as the 44th President of the USA, is just about to become a reality.... isn't that some SH*T.

...my only rationale behind this, is that Clarence Thomas seems to think it's payback time for Obama after Barack made the comment that in essence, he wouldn't have chosen Clarence Thomas for his current role.

I've read some diaries where Obama is being heavily critcized before he could even take the oath of office ...but this crap is out of control!!

UPDATE; ..I'm on my way to work but I appreciate the feedback from everyone ...I'll have more to say later. Ciao.

UPDATE2; Wow.. I made the rec list! The level of the rapport is very engaging...I can't wait to read all of the comments soon. THX

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
