Following is a link to a video by Ford Motor, extolling its state-of-the-art factory in Northen Brazil with (a) highest degree automation, and (b) integration within the assembly line, inside the factory, of independent company parts suppliers. The video closes with the assertion that such plants can't be built in the United States because of union opposition to (b). I believe it is important that the union bashing which is threatening help to the big-3 and their workers, and which is floating around the net (which is how it came to me), be countered by the unions' side; and I would like, personally, to know the arguments.
