Resolving the healthcare problem will help to resolve the auto industry problems and home foreclosures triggered by huge medical bills. I believe that a good single payer healthcare plan should be a part of any financial
recovery plan.
Another thought is how will these single payer healthcare funds be managed and/or distributed? Will we have another no-bid contract given to some private company as was given to Blackwater and KBR and others for the Iraq War?
It appears that the government (?) is looking at this Wisconsin model "MEDICARE MAC CONVERSION PROCESS AND WISCONSIN PHYSICIAN SERVICE (WPS)." The MAC stands for Medicare Administrative Contractors; is it just another way to privatize Medicare? Possibly it will be the "Black Water of Medicare"?

We have got to get people to write to their legislators about a non-profit National Health Care Service, and not another layer of corporate bureaucracy. As Obama said, he needs a mandate.
I believe President-Elect Obama has sent the message through his Change.gov web site that he WANTS us to hold his feet to the fire for the changes we want. We aren't being disloyal to him; we are helping him to implement what we want him to do.
It's up to us to say that we do NOT want to compound our problems by issuing a no-bid contract for funding our healthcare. We want the profit mongers OUT of health care.
