Here's the announcement itself, after the jump. He is speaking at the December commencement at Bradley University. Just posting to alert all the folks in Central Illinois.
I'm not sure what the deal is for attending - tickets and all that. Not even sure if the general public is invited. But The Civic Center is huge. Might be worth a call or attempt.
I am staff at BU, and hope I can go because I HEART PATRICK FITZGERALD, and have for quite some time now. Obvious Kossack reasons.
Fitzgerald to speak at commencement on Dec. 20
Patrick J. Fitzgerald, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois since 2001, will deliver the keynote address at Bradley’s commencement ceremony on December 20. He will be awarded the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters during the ceremony at the Peoria Civic Center. Approximately 250 bachelor’s and 100 master’s degrees will be awarded.
Fitzgerald’s office accused Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich of "a political corruption crime spree" after he was arrested on Dec. 9. In 2003, Fitzgerald was named Special Counsel in an investigation that led to the indictment and conviction of Lewis "Scooter" Libby.
