i am going to make this one quick for those among us who have trouble with logic and facts...
FACT: although the union auto workers deserve a "high five" and a "CHEERS" for "sticking it to the man" with their fat bonuses, subsidized retirement plans, and Senatorial health care system that costs the big three somewhere between 60 and 75 dollars per hour of their labor, they don't deserve handouts from the government.
albert einstein, who a few of you may be familar, once said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. for the US auto industry the insanity is the notion that the "buy american" ad campaigns full of the lumberjack looking masculient male in flannel at the wheel of his gleeming chevy gas guzzeling truck is somehow going to appeal to anyone else but the freepers amoung us (you know who you are). the audacity of detroit to expect the loyal johnny-six-pack american to continue buying last in class vechicles in fuel effciency, reliability, value, and dependability all out of his gee golly america first mentality of the 1980s. HA what a joke.
detroit has no one to blame but its lame ass ceo's and stale cracker of design team for its woes. the japanese are the true american car makers. their commercials encapsulate the thrill of the wide open american highway and their vechicles deliver the relibility and value that customers demand.
subsidizing failure is a lot like building a bridge to sarah palin's house (the one with the view of russia and the nation of africa).
its time to grow up you drunkard bureaucrats and stop using the economic crisis as an excuse to subsidize failing industries with US tax dollars. we have heard the armageddon cries before: with the steel industry, with the electronics industry, with the textile industry, ect. those jobs left several decades ago and the american economy only grew stronger in the meanwhile.
the answer to our economic woes is not found within the bong resin laden head of congress or their drinking-buddy lobbyist friends. the answer resides within all of us. its time we tell congress to stop pissing away our money and our future. its time to get our house in order after the credit card presidency of george c- bush.
bankrupsy can be a good thing.
