Note to traditional media. Stop with the stupid. I am begging you. My brain can only handle so much stupidity and you are quickly approaching the danger zone. I thought the Clinton years in the 90's was bad. If the past week is any indication of how the next four years is going to be I may not survive.
I literally saw a reporter spend two minutes going over how there was no connection between Blagojevich and Obama, only to have her in the next breath go "But having said that the question that really needs to be asked is what "is" the nature of the relationship between the two"
pounds head into wall repeatedly:
This is reporting? This is journalism? Not where I come from. This is not news. This is the kind of garbage I would expect to get from the magazines by the checkout counter in the grocery store. When can I expect to see the stories on Bat Boy and the most recent Elvis sighting on CNN and MSNBC. That is the level of discourse you have sunken to so why not go full bore. If you are going to do something you should do it right I always say.
The job of the Press is to help inform and educate the populace so they can make informed decisions. What you are doing is not informative or educational. It barely even qualifies as entertainment. All you are doing is making people who don't have the time to do their own research and fact checking confused and uncertain. The exact opposite of what you are supposed to be doing.
There is only small window of opportunity left for you to repair your tarnished image, and boy is it tarnished. More and more people are comming to the conclusion that you are not worth watching anymore. You wonder why you are losing readers/watchers to the blogs and online news sites? The past week is a prime example of why. If you can't fathom why what you are doing is so wrong, then maybe you deserve to be relegated to the checkout aisle with the rest of the gossip rags.
