So it's been leaked that Ken Salazar is the nominee.
Wow, that's bad. Very bad. Even Mike Thompson had a higher LCV lifetime score (Salazar's is a meager 73).
Read some of the comments here:
Hope this is wrong. He is another in the long line of Western politicians who pay ALOT of attention to the the traditional abusers of the public lands..grazing, mining, oil and gas. If true, this signals to me that all of Obama’s talk about change didn’t include the environmental issues out here; same old same old, even if he is a Dem.
What a thoroughly uninspiring choice!
Look for more grazing, kiss wolf recovery good-bye, bison are damned, and if you hike-get rubber boots to protect you from the manure you’ll be treading through.
Great. Just great.
What an uninspiring pick.
We now will have either an anti-environment or ineffective EPA administrator (not sure which) and a placeholder industry guy for Interior.
I never bought the Obama hype simply because of his record, or lack there of, on the environment. (Except all the easy touting of "energy"). Now it is coming home to roost, and it ain't pretty! If this is the type of crap we get for these pivotal roles, what can we expect from him on environment?
Terrible choice. (I'm going back to bed.)
Maybe when I wake up, the Denver Post will retract its article and Raul Grijalva will be the pick.
(Heck, at this point even Mike Thompson might be better!)
