Back in the heady days of Palin-mania, when it came out that Bristol was preggers and the right wing got all excited with starbursts, I made a comment:
White Trash? Or is that going too far?
I was roundly critised for it. I racked up 7 troll/hide ratings for it. I was told to "F off," people were "ashamed." I was told I should be "kicked off."
Now, we can have a debate about how "White Trash" is a pejorative. It seems that it is. Perhaps I should have said "redneck" or something else. But it is a descriptor. But with what we've learned since then, what with Sarah Palin pallin' around with drug dealers (thank goodness we didn't elect this woman), I will stand by my comment. Maybe not in the same words, but the content stands.
I won't say I am amazed by my prescience, I made the comment off-hand and probably used a term I shouldn't have. If it is offensive to some, I apologise. But, in a sense, anyway, I was right.
Here is perhaps the best part of this: I made a splash in the wingnutosphere.
…In my opinion this is the most stunning news of the campaign so far. A conservative candidate (yes, McCain IS conservative, no matter what Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh think) chooses an unknown woman governor to be his running mate in a move to appeal to the skeptical conservative base, knowing that the governor’s unmarried teenage daughter is pregnant.
The man has brass balls. [Ed: or a brass brain?]
I’m literally speechless, so please register your thoughts below.

And here are some of those progressive idiots from evil orange and their remarks- And you want these people running the country. [Ed: And now we are, or at least Obama is. Ha!]
Obama hasn’t been vetted but just read and weep. I am so ashamed I use [sic] to be a regular in that puke pit.

Oh, yes, they were all up in arms. So I pissed off some Republicans (their main concern then was that Obama hadn't been vetted, as we learned they should have been worried about their own vetting) and I believe I have been vindicated. And, yes, I've learned, I'll clean up my language.
And, no, we are not a puke pit. Far from it.
