Apologies for the short diary below, but I think this issue merits attention but not a lot of explanation. It pretty much speaks for itself.

The UN has passed a resolution stating that the right to adequate food should be considered a fundamental human right, and also that member-states should "create an environment conducive to the well-being of all children, including by strengthening international cooperation in regard to the eradication of poverty, the right to education, the right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health, and the right to food."
On these two votes, of the 181 voting member-states, 180 agreed that yes, people should have a right to food, and that nations should create an environment conducive to the well-being of all children. One single member-state opposed both measures. I'll give you one guess who it was.
Yep.
After the vote, the representative of the United States said he was unable to support the text because he believed the attainment of the right to adequate food was a goal that should be realized progressively.
I, for one, cannot wait for our current leadership to get their asses kicked to the curb.
