There were so many, it's hard to narrow it down to just 10. But these are the top moments that you either just had to laugh at, or, if you couldn't, made you groan out loud and shake your head. Enjoy!
1. Palin/Couric
As "Frost/Nixon" hit theaters this winter, it's hard to resist imaging whether anyone other than "Saturday Night Live" will someday be brave enough to tackle this landmark interview. Props to Tina Fey for her spot-on impersonations all season long... but the original is almost as laugh-out-loud funny as the remake.
2. Michelle Bachmann's Anti-American Congressional Investigation
Michelle Bachmann wants to root out the anti-Americanists from Congress. How's that witch hunt going by the way?
3. Bush, Meet Shoe
Could there be a more appropriate metaphor for the war President Bush launched in Iraq?
4. Renegade McCain
After a cranky debate appearance in which he referred to his opponent as "that one," McCain ambled around the stage and lingered between the moderator Tom Brokaw and the camera for a few moments. Not exactly strutting his presidential stuff.
5. My Gov'nor and Your Gov'nor, Sittin' By the Fire...
New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey may have left office in disgrace in 2004, but it was in 2008 that rumors of his threesomes with his wife and gay lover hit the newsstands...
...Of course, that scandal was quickly outdone by sitting New York Governor Eliot Spitzer's March 2008 admission of his affair with a call girl and subsequent resignation...
...followed by his successor David Paterson's revelation that both he and his wife had extra-marital affairs...
...not to mention this nut case...
...all of which barely hold a candle to this guy...
...and makes this guy look relatively normal by governors' standards:
6. McSenior Moment
Oops.
7. No Ma'am...
The crazy "He's an Arab" lady was funny, but Kristin Wiig's impression was even funnier.

8. Thanks But No Thanks
Thankfully, we said "Thanks but No Thanks" to this woman for Vice-President. Hardball ran a tally montage of the number of times Palin uttered her famous phrase about that Bridge to Nowhere up there in Alaska.
9. Neither a Joe Nor a Plumber... Discuss
What's painful is that this guy actually got famous over this whole thing.
10. Pie in the Sky
What did we actually, really laugh at? Obama's smart, snarky responses to McCain's many veiled--and not so veiled--insults, lies, and distortions. Here's to a 2009 filled with Democrats talking back!
