Illinois 14th...March 8 Special Election Update

In case you didn't know, Bill Foster is running against a wingnut's wingut, Jim Oberweis, in a March 8 Special Election to fill Denny Hastert's old seat. He has essentially been running as George W. Oberweis as in, "War? Good. Help for real people? Bad."

This has been especially true about Iraq. Well, if you want to see a wingnut spin himself into the ground and get a preview of what the Republican Enabler's talking points are going to be this Fall, he was on the local News this morning and we've got it to show you.

But first, let me show you the Foster ad that went up days ago calling G.W. Oberweis on his 10 year war plan.

Now, watch Oberweis try to talk his way away from his hero, George Bush this morning:

This guy has run for office three times...lost every race...and is trying his best to make it four for four. He's Hastert's guy, and we want to keep him out of Congress.

    ...however, it seems there aren't enough outstanding votes to overturn the outcome...even if John recieved all of them...

    But, we are concentrating on the Special right now. Have to. It's in a month.

  I will say I agree with one thing about your guy's ad---george bush should be in every democratic campaign ad this election. We need to make every race a referendum on the past 8 years.

  In all honesty, I can't say I am real thrilled with your guy, but he won, so we need to support him all the way. (I live in IL-13 so I am familiar w/the local scene).

  The repubs may have given us a gift by nominating Oberweis--I have never gotten the sense that anyone takes him seriously--and the performance on the clip you showed was weasel politics at it's best.
