Obama, Japan (yes, we can...smile a little)

Hey y'all. hat tip for this article goes to The Littlest Gator over at The Group News Blog  I have to say, the idea of a little town on the sea of Japan rooting for Barack...well, darnit, I teared up (though, full disclosure, I also tear up at squirrels in conflict...)

Okay, so, now comes the obligatory paragraphs. They're going to be stream of

consciousness, because whatever I have to say, there are a whole lot of people saying it a whole lot better. Not a put down of my writing skills, but a realization that I have an albatross around my neck, that I will put down, with great joy, very soon. Thank the goddess it's not illness, it's related to the everyday, and what I wanna know is (yes, I'm a Deaniac:-) just how good it's going to feel to be done with the stuff I'm dealing with and be able to:

1. work harder to get the Obamas into the Oval Office.

2. work on Ladytalk (more on that when it launches)

3. work harder on my writing

4. have more fun, and not a little bit, neither

5. figure out my family background, ala these marvelous stories:A Beginner's Guide to Tracing Your Roots

6. finish my song for Gilly

Okay, the stream is running out - I mainly wanted folks to see the little town that could.

      They've been my source of info for all things Obama-related these past months. She posts them every Sunday evening (sometimes Monday for late editions) - she truly does an amazing job.

      I haven't been to the Group News Blog in a while but I was a regular lurker of Steve's - thank you for writing a song for him.

  I was really surprised about how much they knew about America's racial inequality and pro-equality those guys were (considering rumors about the Japanese people being racist and anti-immigrant and the like. It's like my GOD, THEY'RE more on the ball w/ racisim than WE are!

  Also their preceptions on the need for "a clean break from history" as Barack puts it by voting for someone NEW and NOT "the wife of a recent president I thought were just incredible. I guess it just goes to show you that most people everywere on this PLANET, all really want the same things as "we" do!

  So cheers for Obama (BOTH Obamas :) ) and the mayor to for ALSO getting into it! And may Japan, as well as the rest of Asia, and the whole WORLD, can embrace Barack Obama like this! So here's to you, Obama, Japan! :)
