Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 07:58:02 AM PDT

I remember many pundits referring to a split before between the dunkin-donuts Democrats and the Starbucks-latte Democrats.

Find out what changed below the flip....

Yes!! Dunkin Donuts has started to serve lattes!!! GOBAMA!!!!

A couple weeks ago McDonald’s said they are planning to start hiring baristas and dropping espresso machines in 14,000 of their fast-food outlets.

Now I am a coffee snub so I almost always make my own. But when I am in a hurry sometimes I head to McDonalds cause I live in a small town and the closest Starbucks  is 20 minutes away. I have to admit that recently McDonalds actually started to make an OK cup of coffee.

Let us not forget New Orleans. Visit Project Katrina.

Where does this meme come from anyway? In the last five years I've been to Montgomery, Alabama, Mobile, Memphis, Arkansas, and Canton Ohio, all places with , gasp, lattes and often Starbucks. They can't all be living off of a subsection of democrats--or do they mean the early morning construction crowd that shows up in pickups to fire up for the day? In Mason City Iowa, there is an espresso stand in their downtown mall that does great business selling coffee from Caffe D'Art of Seattle.

And in Klamath Falls, Oregon, cowboys are lined up to buy their monday morning mochas at an epsresso stand on one of their main drags, and believe me, the guys in cowboy hats and boots are not big Dem supporters. It's solid shrub country.

Oddly, I saw many more billboards for McDonald's lattes in solidly Republican territory in west Michigan than I do in the Detroit area.
