A Day in the Life of Pres Bush????

Wed Feb 13, 2008 at 08:03:45 PM PDT

I came across this phenomenon a few years ago while looking for some information about what had happened on a specific day in the White House.  Called "A day in the life of President Bush" these posts on Free Republic go on and on adoringly.  I had assumed this blarney had come to an end... but then that was too much of a reality based assumption.

In short... these people have to be psychopaths... when you consider the ills this Administration has imposed upon our country and world.  The beginning of each day’s entry welcomes you with "enjoy your visit to sanity island" along with a picture of a beach scene including the token palm tree.

Then as goo-goo eyed Bushites begin posting info and pictures about the goings on during each hallowed day (every one is very hallowed... there is a post for every day!!) they try to be "first" or offer up prayers for our President  Yes... even omnipotent being worshipers are juvenile!

What really struck me more than the adoring photos was that I recognized screen names I remembered from the visit a few years ago.  Ok... I confess.  I recognized one name – "snugs" But if one person has been doing this daily for years... how many more of these adoring zombies do they have?

Don’t answer that... I know... "snugs" and his/her cohorts make up part of the 25% dead-enders we keep hearing about in Bush’s popularity polls.

Have at it.

ps... I know I owe each of you a hot shower complete with copious amounts of anti-bacterial strength soap after your visit to FreeperLand...  sorry!

Especially when he gets into huffy hillbilly mode, like when a reporter asks a real question?

    Compare:

    Bush.

    Manson.

I'm sure people can come up with better clips. Or some  short "Is it Bush or Manson?" clips.

Hadn't seen that video of Bush before.

He seemed on the verge of having out-of-control anger.     He reminds me of that unstable co-worker or neighbor who one tries to avoid because they can be so unpleasant and unpredictable.

No other president got so upset in public by reporters as often and as much as Bush.

all I can offer is that these folks probably believe as part of a pack mentality, which is self-governing by mostly fear of being left behind.  And, all that implies after you're unofficially banished from the culture.  Which can happen in a heartbeat, based on silly things like speaking your mind against common (and, repeatedly voiced) "truths".

It's not always cultish, but it's meant to feel like an  exclusive membership.  Entrance is easy, but you need to keep up with the dues.  In public.  Always.

And, frankly, the kinds of mindsets some so-called conservative subcultures foment happens to be entirely callous to anyone seemingly not like themselves.  So, if they want to praise Bush for implictly sticking it to their subculture's enemies, then he's a semi-god in their eyes without much of a leap in faith.

Just my $0.02, maybe not worth that much.

That Condoleezza smile is radiantly glorious. How fantastic to have her representing us all over the world.

That statement could be an attempt at a snark here in dkos land.

But that it was a bona fide gushing sentiment is even funnier.

I wonder if Colbert gets some of his material from those posts...

It can't be real. Must be tongue in cheek. No functioning human could be so deluded.

after the farce comes the tragedy.
