Today I am sad :-(( to learn that a few days ago the Democratic party lost a longtime supporter. Although he described himself as a Democrat with a "little d" (meaning he considered himself more on the moderate side of some issues), he was no less outraged at the Katrina disaster and other horrors of Dubyah's administration than us more hard core progressives.
I'm not sure if I should call him a friend or a good acquaintance, but I can say that the world has lost a very good-hearted, genuine person, which there seem to be far too few of these days.
Since I am currently without a live fur friend of my own to hug for comfort, I could really use some cheering up with any friendly pootie, puppy, pony or other pet pictures that can be shared here. Due to the slowness of a dial-up connection, I apologize in advance if I'm not able to respond quickly.

    so we left the patio doors open for the informal election night fun (SF Kossacks) at my house. She lives next door and cruised right on in to the living room chair! Didn't mind the crowd.
    
    On weekends if I'm not looking she cruises in and sleeps on the guest room bed!
    
    Sweet pootie cat...but definitely catitude! Inside she'll nuzzle and purr. Boot her little butt back outside and you can't even pet her!

Here's a sad and happy story. Last August, my beautiful girl Abysinnian kitty Clarice died at the age of 16. Here she is:

I was very very sad, as was my other kitty Alex. Alex wouldn't eat and started hiding under the covers all day. I knew Alex needed a new friend, so I brought home little Oliver.

Well at first Alex wouldn't play with Oliver, but after a month..well you can see for yourself what has happened:

        It was really rough...but, we have 12 years of great memories with him.
        
        It is a shame that our 4-legged friends cannot stay with us longer. I am just thankful that all 12 years he had were filled with love and laughter. He was a lucky dog...and we were lucky 2-leggers.

I lost my big boy on a week before Christmas, a 20 pound Maine Coon Cat. I miss him so, but still have my little kitty girl to play with.

Great photos here. Someone did a pootie picture a few months ago of a cat saying: Don't you evaaa talk to me that way again. It was the funniest think I have ever seen. Would love to see it again, if someone remembers that picture.
