11 in a row - Obama wins Dems Abroad

Thu Feb 21, 2008 at 07:45:58 AM PDT

Just saw the result from my primary - Democrats Abroad.  Senator Obama won 65.6% of the vote.  Senator Clinton won 32.7%.  You can find the announcement here.

Dems Abroad has 22 delegates attending the Democratic Convention, each with a 1/2 vote (11 votes total).  Of those 11 votes, 7 are pledged and 4 are unpledged.  Democrats Abroad is comprised of 3 districts - the Americas, Asia-Pacific and EMEA.  There are 3 people from each district based on proportionality of the district votes (9 people total).  The other 13 are made up of 8 unpledged delegates that is the DA membership, another 3 that are pledged to echo the vote totals and lastly, 2 super-delegates.  The last 5 are elected at the Dems Abroad convention.

The AP is reporting an additional 7 delegates for Senator Obama but that is not right.  DA is reporting 5 people (2.5 votes) for Obama and 4 people (2 votes) for Clinton.  The remaining 2.5 votes will get allocated later but if it has to be proportional, then one would assume 1.5 Obama, 1 Clinton for a total vote count of 4 Obama to 3 Clinton (for pledged delegates).

Or those 1/2 delegates get throw out like the rounding error they are...
