Obama attacks on Bill Clinton years creates new swing voters

Thu Feb 21, 2008 at 08:52:53 AM PDT

It looks like Obama will be the democratic nominee. I am a Hillary supporter and I want to support him in general. But I think he crossed the line a number of times by criticizing Bill Clinton years. Trust me the press will start paying attention to the new swig voters like me. We may not vote republican but would prefer to sit out in general.

I am somebody that stands by my friends good and hard times. I don't go for the new kid on the block. I consider Clintons my friends and I will stand by them. Bill Clinton has been good to this country in 90' period. I may not have agreed with every thing he did. If nothing else he saved 8 precious years from Right wingers steamrolling our government, reputation and way of life.

My vote for Hillary is because of Bill Clinton. I am not ashamed to admit it. Knowing that he will be there assures me to vote for Hillary.

Now I need to decide whether or not we (My family) vote for Obama in general. I am a proud democrat and I want to vote for democrat in general.

But Obama in persuit of power offended voters like me that still respect Bill Clinton and what he has done in 90's.

I may not have the best writing skills but I know that I am speaking/writing on behalf of my family and others grappling with whether or not we vote for Obama in general.

Here are my reasons.

1. Obama says he will get Clinton voters and she will not get his voters - Trust me he will regret this comment. I am a clinton voter and If he thinks we will automatically vote for him; he must be smoking! Trust me, we (Clinton voters) will be the new swing voters in general. If I hear this line again from Obama, my family will surely sit out in general.

2. According to Obama Reagan was transformational - This the quote that infuriated us the most:

"I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not.  He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it.  I think they felt like with all the excesses of the 1960s and 1970s and government had grown and grown but there wasn't much sense of accountability in terms of how it was operating."

3. Obama deliberately mentions Nixon and Clinton in the same line and context - This is desperate attempt to get republican voters. Obama talks about excesses in 1960s and 1970s. What excesses is he referring to. Does civil rights movement, environmental movement, and antiwar movement fall in this category?  This just stupid.

4. Obama says Bill Clinton was responsible for democratic loses in 90's - He should know better. Clintons tried hard to change health care in America. If democrats stood up and supported strongly, we could have won the health care battle and also gained seats in congress. It is the timidity of democrats that cost us the election in 1994. I will see what Obama will do with health care. It's easy to give a speech but hard to show action.

5. Michelle Obama: "I'd Have To Think About" Supporting Hillary As Nominee What an arrogance! Hillary Clinton consistently says that she will support any democratic nominee. I am sure Obama campaign would love to hear this from a strong Clinton voter; We 'The Clinton Voters' will surely 'think twice about' whether or not we vote for Obama.

Once Obama becomes the nominee and the press starts vetting him; we will know more about Obama's. The press will wait for Clintons burial before they start to vett Obama's. We have seen this before with other democratic nominees.

The story you will see in coming weeks is can Obama get Clinton voters in general. We will be the new swing voters. If he is not careful and continues to minimize Bill Clinton years, people like me and my family will sit out in general. The worst case scenario is Hillary voters could vote for John McCain in general.
