I just voted twice on dkos endorsement poll!!

Despite the fact that this diary is short, I thought it's important enough that it should stand by itself, and not get lost in an open thread comments.

Markos just put a post to poll the community on whether him and other bloggers (The Blue Majority) should endorse.  

Well, without realizing I wasn't logged in, I voted, and in haste, voted wrong.  Then I thought about making a comment, but realized that I wasn't logged in.  But the system had tabulated my vote (by updating the totals) just the same.  

Then I logged in and realized that I still have the vote button available.  So I voted, and sure enough, the system tabulated my second vote as well.  

Now, my concern is this: this seriously questions the integrity of the voting process.  First, people can vote at least twice.  (presumably, if I log on a different computer, I could even vote three times??) Much more importantly, if the system doesn't depend on checking my userid to let me vote, then basically anyone can freep the poll!!

And is it possible for a party to just mimick a different IP address each time and vote multiple times?

    Or is your citation a meta-comment on the absurdity of the crescendo of "isms" accusations between the campaigns?

    Just wondering.

    (Cause, I mean, if he meant it that way, it would be a real black eye for his campaign...)

        Well, I don't want to get into a pissing contest (oops!!) about this. But myself, I recognize the seemingly significant pause before "periodically" as a tic of Obama's speaking style--thus potentially innocent, and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

        Plus, if he intended here to paint Hillary as "the woman," I think it's odd that he immediately characterizes her behavior as "gamesmanship," a word with traditionally tough/sports/"manly" connotations.

            Anyway, sexism is so rampant, and so tolerated, in this country today that Obama doesn't need to play games about this to "taint" Clinton. This comment of his, even if I believed it had the intent you ascribe, which I don't, is less than trivial against the (almost) unchecked and completely unhidden sexism of mainstream coverage and punditry.

    This poll (the one Markos posted) will be used to decide whether Blue Majority would endorse a candidate for President.  That would be really seen like the netroots endorsement.  

    I think, at the very  least, they should be able to defend the integrity of the system and that the votes were actually cast by the members of the community.

  Sounds like that's not the case, so I agree, it is seriously flawed if it's going to be used as the basis for anything that happens in the real world.  I'm an Obama supporter, but don't want him getting support in a way that's unfair.

  I just wanted to see if it was possible. It was.

  I had moved and reregistered at the new address. But they sent me two sample ballots with two polling places. Hmmm. Just thought I'd see what would happen.

  Actually, they did get back to me about 6 months later, so the system worked - sort of.

  But that was my one and only commission of a felony. (oooh! A felony!) Voter fraud.

  MoveOn.org did that because they had registered members and a requirement to be a US voter. None of that applies with the DKos voting system. It is NOT a genuine poll!

  But MoveOn.org was guilty of something else - it emailed its members and then posted an endorsement within 24 hours. Not everyone could have possibly had a chance to view and reply...........

  This is a setup by some senior members of the Democrats Party to dump Hillary, right or wrong. ActBlue/Blue Majority is NOT independent from the Democrats and it is run by a Democrats Party executive person.

  Nice to know that it is really Obama doing the attacking and smearing in public, though (tks for the link) - "Obama: Clinton "periodically... attacks to boost appeal"
