Welcome, Welcome All! This is the Hillary Clinton Super Duper Tuesday Returns Watching Party

This is a Party so come on over and bring your best party conversation.  We can talk about the 22 State Primaries and Caucuses or we can talk about the weather.  I don't really care as long as we talk.

Talk as Democrats having mature discourse while perhaps also having a drink or two.

The house will be serving punch and a selection of our favorite nuts.

Beer Pong is in the basement for the enlightened.
I was late on the tip jar so please find it part way down.
Please read the house rules below the fold.

House Rules:

• We want everyone to make it home in one piece so no over drinking.
• The kids are once again trying to sleep so foul language is not tolerated.
• Our 12 year old cat Mouser eats Trolls so leave them at home.
• Our sitter this time is Jamie and she needs tips for her college fund.  Whatever you can afford.

Note: These primaries are proportional. CNN calling a state for Obama or Hillary does not really matter.  65/35 split means the delegates may be split even.  Delegates are all that matter tonight.

        Someone reported that CNN just called Georgia.  You might want to point out in the face of the diary, that calling a state is a term out of the Presidential Elections, where it is all or nothing electoral votes/

        Now, and in Georgia I guess also, in the Democratic Primaries it is proportional.  So, if Obama won by 66 to 34 percent, he would get approximately that percentage of the delegates, minus the super delegates which are not being decided.

        Everyone at this party should realize that this makes the chance of today being determinative much less.

        But perhaps all of the cognisetti(sp?) congregated here already know this.

    antifreeze.  Antifreeze has a very sweet smell that attracts animals to drink it.  My father's a veterinarian, and one evening he sent me (back when 18 year olds could buy booze) to the liquor store for a bottle of everclear.  I thought "hey, party!" but when I returned, he drew up a syringe full and injected it into a sick dog.  Bummer.  But at least ol' Bowser came around (with a doggie headache, I suppose).

    Change is supposed to be the issue for about 53 percent, and Obama gets 3/4 of those, so that is about 40 percent of the total vote.

    Hillary gets the whole experience vote, about 20 percent, and the rest of the change vote, for 33 percent of the total vote.

    The rest on issues is cares about people like me, and electability. No report on how they are breaking.

  I hope I can stay in this party, even though I'm ambivalent about HRC.  I've written several diaries in the last week or so.

  Some are critical of Hillary, and others of Obama.  Does that just make me an angry old man.  

  The one about Obama yesterday is important, and so is the one on HRC's interest freeze.

    a few hours ago, I first voted to Gravel, since he had the guts to respond to the question on religion with, "I notice those most religious are often most ready to go to war and kill people."

    But then I thought about it.  My vote would be reported as "others," and this was a meaningful election, so I did vote for Clinton.

    Read thisto see what swayed me. It shows that Obama was somewhat less than the avid opponent of the war that he is depicted as being.

    And it is this single position that has thrust him into the position he is now in.

    ...somewhere on your profile it gets changed. I like comments on the bottom so once I had new comments show up on top and it was just weird. Heh.

  last few days have developed I have become less and less likely to support Obama - oh I probably would vote for him but only while holding my nose.

  So if the result is in his favor, I have no one to give my passion to.  Nobody to blog about.  Nobody's bumper sticker for the back of our cars.

  I've never been like that during an election, so I will have to find other things to occupy my time.
