Blame Corporate Greed for Sexually Degenerate Culture

A few months ago I read an article on View from the Right, entitled "Another Modest Proposal - Impose America's Decadent Culture on the Muslims", which suggested that the modern West's slide into promiscuity and loose morals was the result of an effective sex ratio imbalance, in which too many women are chasing too few marriage-worthy men.

It suggested that faced with such a fundamental problem (which could only be solved internally by very ugly means), the West's only hope against Islamism is either to come up with a way of reproducing without marriage (which to me smacks of a neo-Lebensborn program), or to forcibly impose Western sexual degeneracy on the Islamic world.

The sex ratio thing seems to make sense to me - if one looks at the Western city which was noted for its sexual licentiousness at any given point in the 20th century, you will notice that it always has more women than men.

Sometimes, like Paris in the 1920s, this is because a large number of men were recently killed in a war, whereas in other instances, like Mod-era London, or like LA/Hollywood in the 1930s or today, this is because the glamor and glitz of the showbiz industry has lured in a large number of pretty young women.

However, being right-wingers, the authors seem to have missed the elephant in the room, namely corporate globalization and the outsourcing of jobs to cheap-labor countries.  As pointed out by Paul Craig Roberts, US job creation has become concentrated in domestic service roles which are inherently impossible to outsource.  These roles tend to involved face-to-face contact and communication, and are thus better suited to women than to men.  Is it not because many men (particularly younger men without extensive work experience) are condemned to unemployment or rubbish jobs that women (who now have better job prospects) cannot find suitable marriage partners?

Could linking sexual degeneracy to outsourcing be a way to drive a wedge between the social conservatives and the globalist greed-heads?

    ... at various levels throughout the human brain/body interface.  We have trouble keeping even the words separate (as shown in your comment) -- let alone the concepts (if that is what they are) and/or the practices (if that is what they are).

    Add to this the fact that we persist in thinking of our "selves" as both monolithic and mostly unchanging, whereas in fact our "selves" are both multiple, protean, and impossible to map to anything resembling a landscape, and you end up with something like a vat of mulligatawny spilled on a crowded double-spiral staircase.  The hermeneutics are hot, spicy, and mobile.

    Figuring out the problem is hard work.  For many, so is minding their own business and being tolerant of others (or, in the case of most Republicans I know, being cognizant that there are others, and that they deserve both oxygen and lunch).

    I contributed the first two of those points, while the original article contributed the others.  (It blamed Western emancipation of women rather than outsourcing for the effective sex-ratio imbalance, as would be expected for a right-wing article).

    Some social conservatives may be motivated by "Eurabia" paranoia, but many others simply see traditional values as a worthwhile end in their own right.

    My real thoughts are "how can we split the right by turning social conservatives against the corporatists?"    Linking sexual decadence to globalization might do that.

    The majority of the burgeoning pay for view sites cater to men's VISA cards, straight or gay.  There's actually been quite a bit of consolidation of ownership of these web sites.  So,  it's quite a corporate environment with billions involved, professional producers and, see, it's 'regulated' so no one's underage child is illegally contracted to do the scenes.  And remember guys, you can quit anytime.

    Recall how a few major pornographers had tickets and invitations to W's inaugural party.  And how that caused irate consternation on the part of Dr. Dobbs's wing of the GOP. So, yep, that sort of 'business' really Ok by GOP's leadership big tent politics, as long as the 'business' owner has the piles of money and fit into the top 300,000 of wealthiest ownership class that W likes to call his base.  That should have been a big clue to the Focus on the Family fanatics as to how their values concerns would be seriously addressed.

    Say, when was the last time we heard from the foreboding, fear-mongering Dr. Dobbs in any major media?  He's apparently dropped off the major media's radar.  Although, Paris Hilton, et al, still gets major coverage for her own uncoverage and continual degeneration.  And the media is showing extreme makeovers for just about everything, except, perhaps, spiritual character.

  I think you're confusing causality with coincident behaviour.  There may indeed be some sort of statistical link, but that does not imply that one causes the other.  They may both be caused by some other factor, or multiple related factors.

  To say that 'too many women' create 'degeneracy' is basically hidden religious overtone.  Ie, women are more sinful, it's Eve's fault.

  By the same line, you could say that the reverse imbalances in Asian countries cause communism, or whatever other silly thing happens to be going on in a given country.

  Corporate greed causes outsourcing of jobs (presumably once held by universally socially inept men).

  This leaves primarily un-outsource-able (?) service jobs.

  These jobs go mostly to women because they're better at them than universally socially inept males, thus leaving the latter unemployed (and probably scruffy and unwashed) and broke.

  As a result of all this, women are having more indiscriminate sex because they're discriminating against the exploding population of unemployed, smelly, scruffy and universally socially inept males when it comes to actually marrying the poor bastards.  This (wimmins having sex by their own leave without the "benefit" of marriage) is of course, the very definition of "sexual degeneracy" that is destroying our country (and also probably causing a spike in demand for popcorn poppers while simultaneously decimating our squirrel populations since those poor, unemployed bastards have to have something to eat).  

  So these guys are not worth marrying, but they ARE worth fucking?  Or are all these now (somewhat) more financially self-sufficient women fucking someone else?  Perhaps They're fucking each other?  That would explain the low birth rates - EXCEPT, aren't birth rates higher among, y'know, like brown people?
