Appreciating your efforts

Not sure if this is a proper subject for a diary -- my first one. I've been lurking for a few months and just recently joined.
I'm a Canadian who has always followed U.S. politics. My main activist work was in human rights, and what happens in the U.S. is always very important to that work (I've been less involved the past several years due to having 3 kids!).
As you know, what happens to people in other countries has a lot of impact from what happens in the U.S. Yet (and understandably so) we are powerless to affect who leads the U.S. by voting or working on campaigns or even donating. I realize there are things we can do within our own countries but the U.S. is definitely the elephant in the living room.
Regularly reading DailyKos the past few months has made me really happy. Though one knows in the abstract that there are devoted, caring people out there trying to make good things happen, it's been a real joy to read your diaries and comments (despite whatever internecine fighting there might be) -- and hear your passion, commitment, devotion to what is essentially the bettering of the human condition. Whether you do it through working on a campaign, donating, voting, challenging the MSM, public education -- it's so important.
I've sometimes wished I could help or donate in the primaries but only U.S. citizens can. Instead I've donated to DailyKos (and will again) because I think it's energizing for people to have a place to connect with other like-minded souls. Hopefully those connections help people feel less daunted at the undeniable magnitude of the work involved in helping all people get food, shelter, health care, safety, dignity, opportunity.
So, really this diary is just to say thanks on behalf of us non-Americans. It is a privilege to "eavesdrop" on your efforts to make things better in the country at the centre of power. It's honourable work. I'm in awe of your enormous efforts and commitment -- and grateful.
P.S. not sure what tags to use, if anyone can help, please do so!
