Redux: Storm Brewing With Hindsight

I have no hatred of Hillary Clinton. If she sincerely repudiated and put her efforts on reversing all the things that Kos listed that are totally against why I came to Daily Kos two years ago, I would probably be a supporter. I don't forgive or forget with bills like Kyl-Lieberman, nor should you. As far as her projected policies, many of them are quite supportable. It's only contradicted by her record where the weight supports non-progressive initiatives.
I'm not half as talented or politically literate as any number of more infamous bloggers on this site, MyDD, what have you, and I already got to the heart of the matter back then before the sportsteam partisan spirit took over this site, in May 2007.
They frighten me:
Clinton's own pigheaded refusal to own up to authorizing President Bush, who may well be clincially insane, to use force against Iraq could alone be seen as disqualifying. Other Democrats saw through the bullshit, so no "at the time and the place"... No. It's a tough lesson to learn, but you don't let madmen play with WMD's. It's even tougher for the countless Iraqis maimed and destroyed. For the soldiers who are shattered and the devastated families of those whose souls vanished into the dust of Iraq, bullet ridden or fragmented by IEDs.
I'd quote more except I deleted a lot of my old diaries. I also wrote about Lebanon and corruption pretty frequently back in 06 and 07, of which Clinton has blame.
I have no hatred for Hillary Clinton. If she sincerely repudiated and put her efforts on reversing all the things that Kos listed that are wrong with her and against why I came to Daily Kos two years ago, I would probably be a supporter. As far as her projected policies, many of them are quite supportable. It's only contradicted by her record. I'd like to see her as a diplomat or cabinet member in charge of Universal Health Care--Medicare, Medicaid, S-CHIP. I do believe she sincerely believes in health care and cares to see all people get it. The problem is everything else about her is suspect.
'
And when that includes wars and lobbyists no single issue can trump. The reason why we can vote for Clinton over McCain is that she's less corrupt and less hawkish than him. That speaks nothing to her virtue. That's an inherently negative viewpoint, and provides no justification for voting for her over another politician who isn't. Obama or Gravel or Ron Paul, if you're an undecided voter who's mad as hell and not going to take it anymore.
