Today Michelle Obama came to the University of Texas. The Barack Obama campaign opened a campaign office right on the UT campus. This just goes to show how seriously the Obama campaign take the youth vote here in Austin.
I was so surprised by Michelle today. She is so eloquent, poised and charming. I think she is even smarter than Barack. She reluctantly entered into the political sphere. However, now that she is in it, she is in it to win.
I was really close to Michelle when she was giving her speech. I took a video of a part of her speech. In this part she implores all of the supporters there to get out and canvass for Barack. She stresses that we were the best part of his campaign, and that we were the key to his success.
Also take a look at her fabulous pant suit. You get a good look at it towards the end of the video. She really is a beautiful woman and I think she would make a badass First Lady.
After her speech I was then given a canvassing packet to go knock on doors for Obama. The crazy thing about this was, I just happened to get a neighborhood right behnind my apartment! They didn't know I lived close to there, it was just a coincidence. Well, I don't believe in coincidence. I think it was fate smiling on me.
So I went out tonight and told my neighbors to get out and vote for Obama tomorrow and then caucus for him after that. Everyone I met was very nice. All of them I talked to were supporting Barack. Most of them had already voted for him or were going to. A lot of them didn't know there was a caucus tomorrow as well. So I educated them a bit on the system, and a few of them said they would be out caucusing for Barack tomorrow at 7 p.m. I didn't get to knock on too many doors because it was getting dark. I didn't want to be running around neighborhoods at night.
However, tomorrow I am going to start knocking on doors around 4 p.m. I am going to do all I can to help Barack win Texas. I will most certainly be at my caucus location at 7 p.m. Michelle got me all fired up and ready to go!
All you other Texas voters need to heed Michelle as she says in the video I uploaded. Get out and caucus at your polling location tomorrow. Get there at 7 p.m. or earlier!
