Demand that the Media Retracts Calling Texas for Clinton

This is a call to action and my first diary so don't be to harsh! You know they say perception is reality. Tuesday night Senator Clinton was declared the winner of the State of Texas. The media narrative on March 4th was that Senator Clinton had won 3 out of 4 states including the big states of Texas and Ohio. As a result, her campaign was revived. What ensued was a massive influx of donations and the perception that Clinton was back in the game.

Why is the media still misleading the public about the Texas election results? I know we are so use to seeing the check box next to winner of a state’s primary or caucus depending on the state’s method of choosing their nominee. In Texas we have both; there should not have been a call for Texas with the caucuses still going on. It turns out that the media was wrong. Senator Obama is the projected winner of the Texas Caucus and likely the overall winner in the State of Texas.

I strongly believe by dragging this out it only helps John McCain in November. Had the media accurately reported the Texas results Senator Clinton would have been viewed as not doing enough. The headline story today would be "Pressure Mounts for Senator Clinton to Withdraw." Again, perception is reality and we need to change the perception.

It is shameful that the media declared Senator Clinton the winner when the results of the caucus were not in.  It appears to me that the media wants to see this drag out. One has to wonder why. It is in their best interest to continue to get ratings in the so-called dog fight for the nomination. Of course the media will rake in more cash.

Please e-mail/contact the media outlets and demand they inform the public that Clinton did NOT win Texas!

  In the light of this result, Obama should declare himself the winner by calling a press conference to thank the people of Texas for giving him the majority of the delegates. He could add in passing the news from California that  the final result is better for him than they claimed on the night.

    He and his surrogates should simply incorporate into their regular remarks, speeches, etc., that he won the Texas contest.  When anyone questions them, saying "But Senator Clinton won the Texas Primary!"  They can respond, "Yes, she did.  But Senator Obama won the Texas Caucus by a far greater margin, and he also won more of Texas's delegates.  He won Texas."

  media is determining reality for our country.  I am so sick of being disfranchised, sneered at, belittled, and ignored.  They hate our candidate as they hate us.  It is disturbing to see them make up reality and get away with it.

  There's no doubt in my mind.  I was a poll-watcher in one of the most affluent areas of Houston, a Democratic-only polling place covering two precincts.

  I would estimate that 20% of our voters were GOP crossover votes for HRC.  Many admitted it openly.

  Rush had been urging his listeners to vote for Hillary, because the GOP wants to run against her and also wants to keep this going.

  Later, at my caucus, I saw a neighbor who is not only a Republican, but something of an activist, the kind of person who has bumper stickers for down-ticket candidates.  He spotted me and did not speak.  I later confirmed that he voted for HRC, then went home.

  Clinton won Texas on Tuesday (in the primary). They just need to also mention  that Obama won Texas on Tuesday (in the caucus), and Obama probably won the delegates.

    You can't divide the state in half. Who won the most delegates from the state? That's how you decide who won the state.

      If it was a Caucus State only then whoever won the Caucus would be declared the winner. So you can't call the state when the results are not in.
