Assuming we were living in a warped, parallel universe...

We might conceivably expect something like this:
"I think that since we now know Sen. McCain will be the nominee for the Republican Party, national security will be front and center in this election. We all know that. And I think it’s imperative that each of us be able to demonstrate we can cross the commander-in-chief threshold. I believe that I’ve done that. Certainly, Sen. McCain has done that and you’ll have to ask Sen. Clinton with respect to her candidacy,"
Except we know that Sen. Obama didn't say this...
(Thanks in advance for following the jump)
Sen. Clinton did, about Sen. Obama (wow! great diary, Devilstower, "Clinton Closes Ranks").
As someone who's been in a few places in uniform, what Hillary says is absolute b.s. Dubya had (has - even after seven years) no national security experience (well, Dubya's experience at national security is a bit like a black hole's experience being a star.)
(They both suck, and enlightenment never escapes.)
It's odd what the moment can be when one changes one's mind on something serious. I guess that moment for me was imminent. Her statement today was over the edge. We don't need more "national security" on McCain's - or Dubya's - terms.
But let's contemplate other great moments that didn't happen in this universe.
FDR favorably comparing himself to Herbert Hoover, Alf Landon, Wendell Wilkie, and Tom Dewey.
Harry Truman comparing himself favorably to Tom Dewey.
(Warning: HEAD-EXPLODING THOUGHT next)
JFK comparing himself favorably to Dick Nixon.
(Aieeeee!!! Make it stop!!! Now that thought does constitute enhanced interrogation technique...)
I think it's Stockholm Syndrome inside the Beltway. How better to explain the Kool Kids, the DLC, craven surrender in Congress, and the inter-dimensional rift to the alternative universe?
Sorry for the brevity of this diary. If it doesn't meet standards, please be patient with me. Clinton's remarks are just too incredible. She's off the rails. This is confessional venting.
I wasn't sure that she would say anything to win the nomination, but I was wrong. She has.
I'm not going to be the most enthusiastic of Obama supporters, but he's willing to campaign as a Democrat. Clinton's campaigning as a neocon: utter insanity.
If you don't mind a late arrival to the party, hope you all don't mind if I hang around.
