Clinton supporter says Obama next Prez (not April fools)

Congressman/superdelegate Cleaver says he expects Obama to be the next President.  Compares support for Hillary to rooting for his favourite team, even knowing it's not going to win.

  •  The mistake so many of these supporter made

    were endorsing so early because they thought she was inevitable. I bet many of them wished they waited. They know in their heart that it was a wrong choice, but they feel they have to stick with it, at least for now.

    Yeah, I find that a bit dismissive.  I agree with him on Wright, but I had no idea that as a white person I have lower standards for Obama.  Maybe Cleaver is the change we've been waiting for.  Sheesh.

      I've heard him preach.  Maybe he doesn't feel Obama comes up to his level of passion and eloquence.

      Cleaver is my congressman.  He's got a really good voting record, especially on environmental issues.  I read for an hour by candlelight Saturday night because I found out about the lights out thing from Congressman Cleaver's e-newsletter.  

      I've been disappointed that he's a Hillary Clinton supporter, but I guess he's got ties to the Clintons that go way back and he feels like he has to be loyal.  I think he's taken a lot of heat over it locally.

  I sent the link to the CBC radio interview to Kos as well as quite a few US political blogs and finally to Ben Smith at politico.com last night, because I thought it was important after hearing the CBC broadcast on Sunday morning.

  Smith was the only one to actually reply and he put the story up this morning. Now it's on CNN. I hope it affects the campaign, because Cleaver spoke the truth when he admitted backing a losing candidate.
