Okay, I just changed the title because I wanted to place more context in what the subject was about.

I've just about had it.  I was really struggling to not fall into the trap of denouncing Hillary Clinton, as I felt that it just demeans the type of candidacy that Obama has been trying to run, but I've had it.  The mere fact that her campaign has now used Republican talking points to continually strike at his comments, instead of using the uproar as an opportunity to discuss her sincere plans for the economic woes of this country shows me exactly what it is that we will get with her presidency.  She shows no restraint, no discipline, certainly no "compassion" and no class at this point.  Had Obama sent out an ad in Pennsylvania regarding her sniper fire comments, I would have been disenchanted as well, but he chose to step away from the issue and not persecute her as she is now doing to him.

I don't know how to embed the video, but I am now outraged.  Forgive me, but I am an independent voter who will not succumb to this type of campaigning.  If she somehow manages to wrestle the nomination from him using this dirty politicking, she will lose my vote in November.  I hold no party loyalties and I will be damned (sorry, just a bit passionate here) if I have to vote the lesser of two evils once again.  

Can anybody possibly answer me this, how in the world does a woman who with her husband in the last 7 years brings in over 100 million dollars in income, has spent the last 25 years in politics or in the political arena, has now chosen several different home states (New York, Pennsylvania, Arkansas..oh and by the way, her actual state of birth, Illinois), who has the scars of a very dynamic yet divisive presidency from the 90's, a woman who lies straight into the camera about a trip to Bosnia, a woman who has not been truly vetted (great, tax returns, um....donations to Clinton Library?), a woman who I sincerely believe has been handled with kiddy gloves from the media (she can state that there is a bias, but sweetie, if you lie on camera, deal with the coverage)....how can this Senator, a public figure and Democratic colleague have the audacity to claim that OBAMA IS THE ELITIST?  Now I don't fault her and President Clinton for earning the money, however I do fault them at taking a statement out of context and using it blatantly as one would expect the Republican Swiftboaters would.

Shame on her indeed. My hands are shaking right now I am so upset...how the hell does she look the public in the eye and call herself a public servant while smattering this droll upon them?

Compare her video, with his...tell me the difference.  Which president would you rather have, one who panders and parses words, has ongoing issues within her campaign (she likes to call it "differences of opinion". Funny she can't afford the same consideration to Obama), can't afford to pay bills or even her own staffer's health insurance, or one who has sustained the most successful grassroots campaign in recent history?

        We are well past the time, where we can ask half the party to "turn the other cheek" while HRC carries on like this.  Look what happened to Dukakis when he refused to stoop so low to repond to the Willie Horton ads.

        It's time for pro-Obam super and pro-unity Dem
        leaders to come out and endorse Obama NOW, before, the PA election.

        And denounce attacks on the Democratic Party and our past nomonee's.  

        And there is real danger that this latest attack is sticking and picking up major support from the GOP and right leaning pundits.

        I hope there are no HRC supportors who truly believe it will be possible for HRC, or any other Dem to win, if they try to take this nomination from his with a backdoor electability super override.

        They all need to check their bearings for expectable backlash of core African American, progressive and loyal Democrats and even the new independents.

        Anyone who helps HRC try to take down the new leader of the Democratic Party will be held accountable.

        When it seemed like waiting until after NC and ID was just a final graceful endgame to make clear the voters closed down the primaries, not the supers, they could justify waiting.  

        But not anymore.

        Sadly, Obama's unfortunate "bitterness" comments, and the agressiveness with which HRC exploited it has taken them all by surprise and put them in a dangerous pickle.

        They are all now risking serious damage to our party and general election candidate.

        Now is the time for all good and loyal Democratics to come to the aid of our party and immediately rally behind Obama to nullify this premature launch of the Willie Horton attack by one of our own.

      Just opinion, but I think she's really overreaching on this gaffe (and I think it was a gaffe) in a way that could backfire.  At some point, the voters will start thinking-"geez, it was kinda a dumb thing to say, but C'MON".  You could see it in her speech today where her attempts to flog it were greeted with grumbles.  My brother is as blue collar as they come, and whining is not an attractive trait if you're trying to appeal to those voters.  She's got nothing else, so she HAS to flog this.  But I'm sure Obama will be ready at the debate to flip this around at her.

      I would urge fellow Obama supporters to remember Presidents who have said MUCH dumber things than this, and still got elected.  Books were written about Reagan's gaffes, Bill Clinton had to deal with pot smoking, adultery, weaseling out of the draft, and he still won.  And don't get me started on GW.  We have a kick-ass candidate-he will not be thrown off by a mosquito's wing on the track.

      Two last points-the Evan Bayh concern-trolling (Oh my, what will the republicans DO if we nominate someone who can be attacked as elite?) just frosts me-maybe we should just let Karl Rove pick our nominee and be done with it.  

      Secondly, this dustup seems to have pushed Obama into being more fiery and regular guy on the stump, really pitching himself as someone looking out for the worker, instead of the more detached professorial demeanor.  That might help him-I know I always liked it when WJC was running, and he could depart occasionally from the policy to really lay the smack down on the repubs.

        She doesn't need to reach far to get undecided voters in Pennsylvania and Indiana.  Right now, those are her states to lose at this point.  With this type of advertising, regardless of my outrage or other supporter's outrage, we can't assume that all Penn state and Indiana state voters will the take the time to the actual transcript of his speech.

  I share your outrage and have not decided what to do in November (write in Obama's name on the ballot? urge him to form the "Grassroots Party"?).  I know all the arguments about the Supreme Court, and the Republicans are worse, but you can bet she is counting on Democrats falling in line in order for McCain not to win.  It's all part of the calculation, I'm sure.  Why should we reward horrendous behavior?  

  But, so far all looks to be on track - it'll be interesting to see what comes out of the next debate and primary.

      If they are actors, they are pretty good.  One or two seem sorta contrived.  It's still very good.  Contextual, etc.  The buzz on the ad will drive the story thru 2 or 3 more news cycles, at least.

    ...it's Rovian, Machiavellian, unethical...which should be a red flag to Democrats who remember the 2000 and 04 Republican attacks on Gore and Kerry...or, for that matter, on Bill Clinton. Jan Wenner, in last month's Rolling Stone endorsement of Obama, wrote that Clinton reminds us of all the things we don't like in politics. That says it all.

  John McCain and the RNC is looking at what Clinton does to Obama in the hopes of using her tactics against him.  If he still wins the next few states or come in very close to states she is factored to win, the RNC will know that they won't win against him.

  That highlights the difference between these candidates.

  From Obama himself or ads that he approves, he only has counter-punched. Now being less evolved, I'd put a Bosnia ad up in a hearbeat, but I am happy to have a candidate in Obama who doesn't sink to her level.

  This is the real kitchen-sink strategy, both of them end up being hurt and the opponents are just laughing their way to another 4 years.
