All this fuss over bitterness and Clinton picked up 4 pts on Obama.

With a week to go until Pennsylvania voters render their final verdict, Hillary Clinton has opened a nine-percentage point lead over Barack Obama in the Keystone State. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows Clinton now attracts 50% of the vote while Obama earns 41%.
That’s a slight improvement for Clinton who led by five percentage points a week ago.

I think we will now see the media narrative change to how "the media" over played the story.  You could see Obama pick up everything he lost which is not much and has the opportunity to get the BIG MO back.  The debate could be critical here.

•  So between the 3 polls that came out today

  from their last polling outing, the margin has changed in SUSA +4 for Obama, Quinnipac is unchanged, and Rasmussen is +4 Clinton.

  That to me makes it look like this whole controversy is a complete wash.

•  A lot of interesting data within those numbers

  In Pennsylvania, 75% of Likely Primary Voters have heard of the remarks. Thirty-five percent (35%) agree and 51% disagree. Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Obama supporters agree with the comments while 25% disagree. Among Clinton supporters, 73% disagree.

  Thirty-seven percent (37%) say that the comments reflect an elitist view of small town America. Forty-eight percent (48%) disagree. Most Clinton voters (57%) believe Obama’s comments reflect an elitist view while Obama voters overwhelmingly reject that notion.

  In the Keystone State, Clinton is now viewed favorably by 74% of Likely Democratic Primary Voters, Obama by 72%. Those figures are little changed from a week ago.

  Clinton leads by twenty-seven points among White Voters while Obama attracts 78% of the African-American vote.

  A separate survey found that both Democrats lead McCain in Pennsylvania.

  What to take away from this:

  1. Clinton is succeeding to some degree in ghettoizing Obama.

  2. Nevertheless, Democrats still view Obama favorably.

  3. After all this bullshit, both Democrats still beat McCain in PA.

  •  Silly analysis

    People don't elect a President over whether they agree or not on every couple of phrases from a candidate.  If that were the case no one would cast a vote for McCain or Hillary.

    Obama just like McCain and Hillary can make some mistakes, goof up some lines, etc.

  I'd be interested to see if they push-polled this one as well. Their last few surveys have included leading questions like, "MCCAIN AND CLINTON THINK OBAMA'S COMMENT THAT SMALL TOWN VOTERS BITTERLY CLING TO GUNS AND RELIGION IS ELITIST... do you?"
