Experience is needed!

Mon Apr 21, 2008 at 08:17:47 PM PDT

This diary is for all the people who say that experiences does not matter in the selection for the Democratic Presidential nominee this year, got news for you it does.  Some are saying that Hillary Clinton days has first lady in the White House does not count for anything, got news for you it does oh and here is the meaning of the word  experience for all those who forgot "knowledge or practical wisdom gained from what one has observed, encountered, or undergone".

Let face the facts everyone like it or not you can not make change without experience to show that those changes can become a reality and Hillary Clinton has the experience to make those changes we need become a reality. In 1993 Clinton head the Task Force on National Health Care Reform, she was the main author of the (State Children's Health Insurance Program SCHIP). She have traveled to 79 countries during her time has First Lady more than any other First Lady in US History. She helped create Vital Voices, an international initiative sponsored by the United States to promote the participation of women in the political processes of their countries, I can go on and on about her experience and I have mention yet her 6 years as Senator. We all know that Washington D.C is a very dirty political ground and experience is needed to being change about, not just going around talking about change but the experience to back up change. Like or not "yes we can" is not going to being changes we need is it. I plead to my Democratic friends here today, don’t be too desperate for change from George Bush and forget about what is needed to being about change or we are going to have political advisors running the White House in 2009 not a Commander and Chief. If we want American to remain the great nation it is today Clinton is the one for the job.

"Two weeks ago, Karl Rove ... was telling the National Republican Committee 'Here's your game plan, folks, here's how you're gonna win - we're gonna win by getting everybody scared again,'" Clinton said. "This crowd [says] 'All we've got is fear and we are going to keep playing the fear card.'"

She was certainly taking notes on electoral strategy.

and Obama has a far superior resume of experience than Clinton II

Admittedly, Hillary probably knows where the sugar is kept "in the kitchen" -- but I would rather someone that will be able to resist pressing the nuke button -- if she grows tired and forgets that Iran actually doesn't have nuclear weapons and just has a civilian nuclear power program instead ...

  •  How, about if you disagree with (0+ / 0-)

what kind of experience is important? I do not feel Mrs. Clinton has learned much from the experiences she has claimed and observed.

Incidentally, you don't achieve significant change from those that have the most to lose from that change. Whatever else Mrs Clinton is, she is politically entrenched, why would she effect any meaningful change? It has benefited her oh so much.

George W. Bush has more experience being a president than any of the nominees, Democrat or Republican.  BIG FUCKING DEAL.

The "Commander in Chief" does not, does not, does not run the White House!  The Commander in Chief is the top of the military chain of command, representing the concept that the buck stops in the Oval Office when it comes to military decisionmaking.

What we need, desperately, is a president who understands how to motivate all Americans behind programs that this country needs, now.  We've had more than enough 50%+1 politics for one lifetime.  And Clinton, whatever her remarkable stregths and résumé, is a 50%+1 politician.

I'm certainly not going to say anything negative to you for being a Clinton supporter, but as you begged us to look at Clinton, I'll beg you to look at this what this country has become over the last half century and ask which of our candidates has the best opportunity to make a clean break with a cynical and broken past.

  •  Clinton lost (4+ / 0-)

against McCain a long time ago.  Back during that debate she said that the entire election would only be about National Security.

She conceded the election by letting them set the agenda. She lost when she didn't have a message of her own and decided the republicans message was the one to use.

The only way to win is by being different, not the same.  She decided to be the same.

Obama has already proven himself more than able to win because the controls the message.  Every single person running this year has had to become an agent of change.

The question is what kind of experience. When you say:

We all know that Washington D.C is a very dirty political ground and experience is needed to being change about, not just going around talking about change but the experience to back up change.

you are making a false assumption about what we all agree upon.

The conservative columnists do the same thing. They toss out blanket 'universal assumptions' that are fundamentally flawed. Not a good way to write.

but the fact also remains that obama never diminished her washington experience. she just never ran on it, and instead ran on her first lady experience more heavily which was a shocker to me. the fact is that she is not that much more experienced than obama as a senator which is probably why she ran on her first lady  "credentials". Obama equally has ground experience and grass roots experience and as you can see, the success of his campaign is based on this philosophy of community organizing.

Hillary keeps yelling 35 years of experience. That means she is counting her experience from the beginning of her days in GRAD SCHOOL.

Well Obama is like 15 years younger than her and has more experience than she would have had at his age, not only on merit but on resume. Obama has more legislative experience than hillary clinton considering he was in the state legislature for 8 years plus 3 years in the US Senate. He taught for 8 years at an Ivy League level law school for 11 years.

He also has more foreign policy experience than bill clinton had.

But im not voting for him soley on the basis of his experience. Im voting because I trust his world view.

Clinton has none, Obama has a ton.  All that great experience of Clinton's did not stop her from voting to let Bush send this country to war in Iraq; it did not stop her from voting for a bankruptcy bill that has hurt more working Americans while bailing out the credit card industry; it did not stop her from voting for the use of force against Iran.  The list could go on and on.

  •  Breathe! (0+ / 0-)

If experience matters so much, why are you not campaigning for McCain? Or are there some things that are more important?

    It's not a fact.

The greatest change president we ever had was FDR who not only did not have the experience to make it happen, he did not even run on the change he would go on to make.

In any case, Hillary's experience as well as her record this elections proves that she will not make any improvement in the party's overall standing. Her experience last time cost us control all across the United States.

That you want one, that has been out of medical school long enough to understand he does not know everything,  but not so long that he won't keep up with the latest procedures and information.
In other words, experience but the ability to change.

Does Hillary Clinton have the ability to change?
In my opinion she does not. She has demonstrated this by not only saying she would continued on the same failed paths, but mocking someone who wants to change direction.

And Experience is not the only crieria, that would indicate success.  She has not demonstrated good leadership qualities. She is divisive, and calculating.

And the question of experience is one she would ultimately loose, McCain is clearly more experience than she is.  So we should just worry about experience for the primary election but forget about it in the general?   I do not like John McCains policies, and I do not trust Hillary Clintons.

But if the Title of the President Changes to most Experience in the Free World, and we stop having a motto of United We Stand.  Then I guess Clinton would be better than Obama.  But for Leader of the Free World, and United We Stand, I want someone that can both Lead, and Unite.   And if you didn't know it already, Clinton's campaign has proven she can do neither.
