Obama! Run These Ads!

The ad begins with a clip of Rev. Wright screaming "Not God bless America, no!  God damn America!"  Then have a voiceover of a southern white woman in her mid 40's saying:

"This is what we've been seeing from the media and the Republicans for months." (Go to southern white woman standing in a field.)  "My name is ____ and I'm an Obama supporter.  My husband and I have voted Republican most of our lives, but 2 years ago, his job was shipped overseas due to unfair trade policies and Bush's tax loopholes for big business.  We lost our healthcare.  Obama has a plan to bring jobs back to America and has a universal healthcare plan to get America back on track.

"I don't care about that crazy preacher, I just want our family to be working again.  And that's why I'm supporting Barack Obama!"

End scene

The second ad begins much in the same way, but this time with an Iraq veteran (I'll gladly volunteer for this one, Obama!)

"For months now, the media and the Republicans have been ambushing us with non-stop talk about Obama's pastor." (Go to Soldier)  "My name is ____ and I served with the ______ in Iraq.  When I got home I found out I couldn't apply for the GI Bill.  Obama supports the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act which will give full funding for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans to attend college.  But Senator McCain has refused to support it.  While Senator McCain has refused to support the troops, Senator Obama is backing them all the way.

"I couldn't care less about Reverend Wright.  I'm voting for Obama because he really supports the troops!"

End scene

  If you can find a friend with a camera you can make them and put them on youtube. But don't look at I am completely unschooled in how to do that. But I support your taking charge of your portion of the campaign. I'll recommend it though so that if you don't, or can't maybe someone else may.

          In advertising, a common method is to say something bad to decrease resistance to the product.  When the lady says "I don't care about that crazy preacher, I just want a job" it puts in the minds of those who would otherwise be thinking about Rev. Wright the idea that he's not an issue.

        Use simple, descriptive language.  People know what the media's been saying.  We don't need to do their corrupt job for them again.  

        But clear this with Rev. Dr. Wright first:  that's the honorable way to do things.  If he feels he's being honestly represented, then we can feel OK, too.

        And if he says no, then we focus on the veteran ad.

  They could get a pulse on how we react to things at the grassroots. There are times when there are great ideas and passion coming from everyone on this site, that could give them an idea how they should repsond.

  Sometimes, I feel we have a better idea how to respond to things than the overpaid insiders.

  Most years, I vote Republican.  But this year I'm voting for Barack Obama, because he understands small town workers.  In the Illinois senate, he passed legislation that helped farmers growing corn for ethanol, and he's fought hard for America's farmers in the United States Senate.

  His wife and their two kids come out and join him.

  Barack Obama shares my values, and he understands that working families are smart enough to look past the negative ads and look at what a politician stands for.  Barack Obama stands for me.
