Who is the Real Judas?Clyburn Speaks Out.

Fri Apr 25, 2008 at 03:29:12 AM PDT

The Clintons are big on loyalty. Their court jester ( or is he the idiot of their village? the flying monkey of their Oz?other ideas?) James Carville famously called Gov. Richardson a Judas because he dared to endorse Obama over Clinton. So, how loyal have the Clintons been ? No group stuck with the Clintons more consistently than the African-American community through the dark days of the Impeachment witch hunt. Clinton had their near unanimous support , and it played an important role in saving his Presidency.

James Clyburn (D-SC) is the Majority Whip, the Third  Ranking member of the House Leadesrhip. He is also the highest ranking African-American in Congress. Still officially uncommitted in the Primary, Clyburn says that

black people are incensed over all of this.

That is, the behavior of Bill Clinton in South Carolina.

He let it rip in an interview with the NYTimes:

When he was going through his impeachment problems, it was the black community that bellied up to the bar. I think black folks feel strongly that that this is a strange way for President Clinton to show his appreciation.

Mr. Clyburn added that there appeared to be an almost “unanimous” view among African-Americans that Mr. and Mrs. Clinton were “committed to doing everything they possibly can to damage Obama to a point that he could never win.”

Why should we take the African-American vote for granted? If Clinton is nominated in spite of Obama winning more states, might they not also stay home, as the Clintonistas are threatening to do in the GE?

Apparently loyalty only counts in one direction. It flows from the people towards the Royalty. The King and Queen themselves need show no loyalty to their subjects. Isn't peace and prosperity enough?

The Clintons have convinced the media, or at least the liberal blogosphere, that the dysfunction of the Clinton years is out of bounds for discussion. Even in this most Pro-Obama forum, we are not allowed to talk of  the  sordid tales of Lewisnky, Whitewater, and all the rest for fear being called a troll. What is wrong  in considering character in who is more qualified to be President? Indeed, Sen. Clinton has gone one step further and claims that having survived the scandals makes her more immune from Republican attacks. She may have survived, but her credibility has been destroyed: fully 60% of Democrats think she is untrustworthy. Surely the Super Delegates will take that into consideration when deciding who is the stronger candidate against McCain?

How do the Clintons  get away with it? Because Hillary Clinton was indeed correct in asserting that there was  a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy out to get them. We were right in supporting the Clintons back then. But the situation has reversed now.  The Clintons  have  gleefully joined the VRWC  now in their attacks on Sen. Obama. Hillary's newest Best Friend Forever is none other than Richard Mellon-Scaiffe, the leader of the VRWC.

Christopher Hitchens said,

For Sen. Clinton, something is true if it validates the myth of her striving and her "greatness" (her overweening ambition in other words) and only ceases to be true when it no longer serves that limitless purpose. And we are all supposed to applaud the skill and the bare-faced bravado with which this is done.

This was written before the Bosnia episode, before Sen. Clinton carried McCain across the Commander-in-Chief threshold, before she had lost the Iowa caucuses. It reads even more true now.

But then Christopher Hitchens is another one of those elitists who are out of touch with the American People.  Not salt of the Earth like Richard Mellon Scaiffe.

There is a reason that McCain is so actively seeking the support of African Americans now, hoping to woo them back into the fold of the Republican party while they smile in glee as the Clintons ailenate them by their kitchen sink strategy.  The Republican's plan is to help Hillary make Barack look unelectable so she can some how become the Democratic Nominee, then they, the Republicans, will unleash the "arsenal of weapons" they have against her and Bill; defeat her in the Fall with the help of African Americans that McCain is so eagerly tyring to impress at this time; and which the Clintons have alineated -- beautiful!

Let's be clear, Barack is fighting a Two-headed Giant: the Clintons as a unity for they are one, and the Republican Party: McCain, Cable Telivision: Joe Scarborouh, Pat Buchanan, Wolf Blitzer Rush Limbauah (we need to have Barack bloodied up) & Fox News -- a Mighty Giant indeed.  Hillary actively seeks their support to help her beat Barack but they will turn against her like a mighty sword if she was to become the Democratic nominee come fall.

No it is not easy to overcome this Mighty Giant of Special Interest Money & Corporate Greed, but what we can do, is to identify who they are and not give them anymore Power.  Turn off TV shows which are disengenuous and have their own political agenda that is not in keeping with the welfare of the people, stop buying their books or newspapers, write more articles on them, write/call and email them and their producers our objections to the way they are reporting non-news, gossip, and trying to brainwash us for their own continued domination of the masses.  May be we will have to write their sponsors and complain, hit them in their pocket book.  We all have to get involved in this effort!

This effort by the people, for the people, is the one kink in the armour of this Mighty Giant.  We the people are finally waking up and seeing through their lies, distortion and domination, and we will nominate Barack Obama, the People's Champion.  I say people because there are some disinfected Republicans and Independents who are finally waking up to the fact that under Republican rule this country has suffered, while big business and big money has prospered.  People are waking up to this and they are ready to get their power back, their jobs back, their very way of life back, which is the American way: peace, brotherhood, prosperity for all, not just a special few.

That would wipe out her lead with the SDs. To say nothing of wiping out her gains in PA.

they can win over African-Anmericans, but they are smart enough to realize they can make the "no difference" argument, which will keep their numbers down in November which will help the democrats lose. Clinton doesn't think two mnutes ahead...don't ever get stranded on a desert island with her, she'll eat all the provisions the first day, and then her eyes will scan over you hungrily...

but defeating Clinton is more important to the health and future of the Democratic party than defeating McCain. Yeah, I know "SCOTUS!!!! AAAIIIIEEEE!!!!!"

If we think only four years ahead, then, yes, ANY democrat is better than ANY republican. BUT -- think 10, 20 years down the road -- where will the new democrats come from? Minorities, young people, those not previously interested or inspired by politics -- ALL the people Clinton turns away from the process, and all those Obama inspires.

If Clinton wins, then politics as usual wins and we're stuck with a horrid-power-hungry egotist at the top of the party for a minimum of 4 years and probably 8 or 12...our party is JUST NOW recovering from the stagnant personal-centered party the Clinton's created. HOW many governorships, congress and senate seats did we lose? 20% or more? Brilliant, let's bring the architect of that disaster back, and for what? NAFTA and welfare reform?

Obama represents (not embodies) a movement. A movement back toward people (not personal) politics. The media hasn't caught up yet, but when they realize our candidate just isn't going to live in a political-mud-pit for the campaign (and his governance), they'll have to go back to looking for missing pregnant white blondes, or Paris Hilton/Britney Spears crotch-shots/nipple-slips. Obama will probably not solve all our problems, but he will widen the party which will make progress possible...with Clinton we get a nominee/president who's content to win even though she got less votes -- (Isn't that what we've got now?) talk about a mandate.

If Clinton wins, it'll be another generation until we can fix our party. She must be defeated to save our movement -- even if that means John McCain gets elected, we can survive 4 years of bad republicans, in fact it might even strengthen our movement -- but imagine 2010 if Clinton is in the white house, it'll be 1994 all over again, and Clinton will be looking out for one thing only -- her own skin, and the movement, the democrats can go f#$% themselves.

Sometimes, if you have a bad enough condition, you have to amputate something you used to love to survive...What'll it be SD's? Save the gangrenous leg and lose the patient or ditch the stump and come back stronger?

I am also coming around to thinking that saving the Democratic Party is more important in the long run. We have a historic opportunity here. It could be like Goldwater for the Republicans.
