Obama Veepstakes Poll (4th 1/4 Final) Napolitano v Sebelius

After the first two rounds are now over and we've gone from 45 candidates (including the 15 wild card round candidates) to just eight, we're closing in towards the Obama Veepstakes poll final.

Today's the final matchup of the quarter finals, the semi finals and final will take place next week. All previous results and today's poll can be found below the fold.

    Janet a lot, but VP...hunh-uh!  Sebelius is VERY impressive--I caught her on CSpan in Ohio, and she was extremely bright, pleasant, and well-informed.  I think she would make a great one!!!

    Maybe we CAN go back to Kansas....plus, her Dad was Gov. of Ohio, and she knows it well...

  •  I think McCain's veep selection depends on dems

    If it's Hillary, McCain's VP will be JC Watts or Colin Powell

    If it's Obama, it could be Liz Dole, Olympia Snowe or that crazy anti-gay congresswoman from Colorado.

    The best choice for McCain would actually be Illeana Ross Lehtinen but she was born in Havannah so I don't know if it can be done

    Don't know either well--reading the bios, I lean Napolitano, but beforehand I was going Sibelius and these comments here have tipped me back...KS has my vote.

    Besides, there's something sentimentally appealing about Obama having the older white woman from KS on his ticket...

      A Chuck Hagel VP would do a number of useful things:

      He is a genuine war hero of Vietnam.
      (Shuts down McCain on his strongest issue)

      He hates Bush and openly speaks against the folly of Iraq in ways that resonate with Republicans.

      He will bring in Indies, moderate Republicans, and not only will he turn Nebraska blue, but you all know those plains and mountain states that Obama has been winning (but will probably lose in the General) he'll turn some of those blue, too

      For his second term, Obama can dump him to preen his successor--one of those people in your list above.

      For the pragmatists here, Hagal must be considered.

      •  Yeah, those are the plusses BUT

        1)If Obama is in danger from domestic terrorists, this increases the danger twofold

        2. In order to have a coherent ticket, Obama would have to go to the right a couple of notches

        3. A lot of Obama/Hagel voters would vote for repubs downticket, I think, so less coattails than another VP

        On the other hand, I think this forces a McCain/Lieberman ticket which would be funny

          This is why I was able to convince my Republican parents to vote for Obama.

          This is why people here need to stop using the word "Rethug."

          The Neo-cons are the enemy of this country, but there are a lot of good people in this country who have voted Republican for various reasons who are just looking for one reason to change their vote.

          Such posts remind me that Republicans are not completely to blame for the polarization of America.

            That's fine, but basically the only common ground I have with Hagel is the war - and even then he voted for the vile aumf. The thought that if anything were to happen with Obama would leave us with President Hagel sends chills down my spine.

            Its not something I'm interested in donating to or working towards. I'd vote for Obama in this situation, tepidly.

But he is NOT an ideologue, and he is a thoroughly honorable and principled man. I value that way more than what one says in a stump speech when fishing for votes.

  She has a republican Lt Gov, who is an election integrity nightmare and would inherit the state, throwing elections for years to come.

  We are within four seats of turning the AZ state legislature blue, making progress in all kinds of ways.  We need Napolitano to stay put until her term expires.
