the live community radio thing

Fri Apr 04, 2008 at 03:55:51 PM PDT

Hi - Rob here again with All Over The Place on HomeGrownRadioNJ.org, the Internet radio show that's a musical education in three hours or less. Why do I post it here? Good question - wish I had an answer. Just felt it was my job to entertain you as you surfed the web. AOTP runs from 7 pm to 10 pm EST, in other words, right about now. Click on "listen live" to, you know, listen. Live.

About HomeGrownRadioNJ.org - it's a small community-based Internet radio operation located in Blairstown, NJ. We've been around for over 3 years and we just got our nonprofit status (hence the .org). HGRNJ DJs will play anything and everything!

Drop a comment in if you have a musical request. I've got a 320 GB hard drive and I'm not afraid to use it.

Go here to tune in.

Updates below.

6.45 pm - leading off - new from Punch Brothers, the new project from Chris Thile of Nickel Creek. Actual Nickel Creek music to follow. Also Grant Lee Phillips, The Raconteurs and A Fine Frenzy.

7.15 pm - new stuff on the way from Matthew Ryan, Sun Kil Moon and Black Francis.

8 pm - time flies - Rolling Stones on the way, along with Metric, The Weakerthans, THe Multiple Cat and Richard Ashcroft, thereby balancing out the familiar with the obscure.

8.30 pm - things get elctronic with Ultravox, Hot Chip (new), The Raveonettes (also new), Radiohead, B-52s, MGMT, Panic At The Disco - well, it's pretty much all new.

9.10 pm - almost done - OMD, Men At Work, Dambuilders, Franz Ferdinand and more Firday night fun.
