Another Townhall Question for Hillary

Fri May 02, 2008 at 05:55:24 AM PDT

When you were asked about your thoughts about Rev Wright, you said, "I would have not been able to stay in the church" and "One's choice of church and pastor is rooted in what one believes is what you're seeking in church and what kind of, you know, fellowship you find in church."

If Barack Obama had been asked about Monica Lewinksy scandal, would it have been appropriate for him to say, "I would not have been able to stay in that marriage"?

Wouldn't you have considered that completely inappropriate, slimey, and downright mean?

How is your comment about Wright different?

  •  This Seems Like A Stupid Question (0+ / 0-)

Isn't Wright / Lewinsky / Ayers the kind of crap we want to get away from?  Don't we want policy questions and solution questions?

    •  I agree, but... (0+ / 0-)

you can bet that if Hillary is the nominee, the GOP will dig up all kinds of new & old crap on her.

Obama is right to stay away from it; he practices what he preaches.

on what Obama wishes he could say.. If I were going to frame the question I would have added:

When addressing the Wright issue you said "you can not choose your family" which shields you from your Brothers; however you can choose your husband.. In that light, you knew about Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, and at sometime learned about Monica and Juanita Broaddrick, could you assure us that Bill Clinton will not have these types of problems again and can you assure us that you will take action to rid yourself of Bill in the same way Barack has rid himself of his pastor if it comes out that Bill has continued with his amoral womanizing..

If McCain wins, the Supreme Court will be changed for 20 years. Something to Ponder.

It was silly for her to sound off on Wright.  She shouldn't have even been asked about it.  It's a non-issue.  Why would this be appropriate?

        •  Appropriate, of course not. Soundbyte, you bet! (0+ / 0-)

I fear that a lot of people on DK do not see how truly damaging this entire episode has been.

You'll understand when Obama wins by less than 10 points in NC and loses by a couple of points in IN.

Obama really needs someone in middle America, NOT a surrogate, to get this question into the media spin room for two or three days.

to really vet her but little Georgie won't do it... We know the answer to that question: In the long range plan she had to keep that last name or she would not be senator let alone running for Pres...
