Unlike West Virginia, no one is voting for Edwards. He's only at 1.6 percent.

        In all of these late contests, he hasn't. He's generally come in around 74% (or less), even though he faces much less of an outward primary "challenge" than the Democrats face. Is that normal for primaries? It seems like he's losing a good 20% of Republicans and no one (except Paul) is actively running against him. Seems like that number is kinda high for the presumptive nominee. Can't be good for fundraising either.

    and I can't quite understand it. McCain has already secured the nomination, so it isn't as if there is a reason for Republicans to go to the polls to cast their vote. Is this to be taken as some indication as to how Republican turnout will be in November? I wouldn't think so.
    
    Anyone see Ron Paul is winning Bath County. He's at 60%, McCain at 33%, Huckabee at 17%. That's funny for a guy who's long since secured the nomination.

A diary I posted comparing the resumes of the eight democratic candidates, which I feel is pretty clear evidence against the "sexism is why Hillary lost" argument. Based on resumes, anywhere from two to six of the other candidates should have finished in front of her. So the fact that she beat six of the seven men in the race pretty much argues against that.

in some of the southern counties, Obama is getting thrashed, such as in Wayne and Owsley Counties where he is losing 91-8%! The margins are similar with many of the other surrounding counties.

This could be a fluke, but...

According to the SOS office, as it stands 11 percent of registered Dems have voted... but 25 perecent of precincts are in.

That translates to a 44 percent turnout, if the pattern holds. That's VERY high.

So it means either:

Turnout is going to be VERY high,

or,

Turnout is high in the Obama urban strongholds. That could be good news for us as the night goes on....
