Books by Kossacks

Did you ever wonder how many kossacks (or close relatives of kossacks) are also published authors?  Well, I did, so I started to keep a list.  For a while I would post it each week as a comment in the diary series What Are You Reading and Bookflurries and solicit new additions.  Then it got longer.  And longer until finally I decided to start posting it as a weekly series.  Check it out, you'll be amazed.

In addition to all the new entries I've added since last week, I made some other changes to the lists this week.  In order to increase readability, I've tried to make multiple sublists by splitting the Nonfiction list into two divisions by topic and I've also broken out some of the authors as Diary-Only Kossacks (those who almost never comment outside their own diaries).  If any author feels misclassified by this new system, just let me know and I'll be happy to move you to whichever section you think best describes your work.

      Almost all are edited, but not as in an anthology. They were carefully crafted and got all the right people to contribute original chapters. They were alot of fun, but alot of work. My latest has 50 chapters from 45 different authors. And yes, all chapters there were original, too.

      Anyone interested in education ought to read them.

    Stan was a leading polymer chemist, and my brother-in-law. The ACS named an award in his honor for his work with minority scientists / students in the sciences. He died suddenly a few years back.

    If it's a chapter in a text book for example, sure, but if it's a journal article or such, then no.  

    I suppose I could add another sublist if there is a demand for it, but since I started the list as a way to help drum up sales for some of the authors around here, I've been mainly keeping track of works that are avaiable for sale.

  •  I expect the only way to include research papers

    would be to post themed pages of annotated links to several thousand Kossack CVs.  My... what... 25 or so papers and chapters and such [mostly molecular phylogenetics] ... don't bear individual listing for the purposes described here, and I suspect most research papers are likewise.  However, perhaps political science research would be interesting enough to a lot of people to deserve a list.

  Also my father (who by the way was a die-hard Democrat and utterly detested the Republican party) published a book which is required for anyone taking a course in 20th century Puerto Rican history.  By the way, the Spanish version was re-issued just last year.
