Some were wringing their hands over how slow the BFA bat was between when it went up (
Dec. 23 at about 3:00pm) and Sunday, Dec. 28.
What if Dean's comments on Sunday RE: attacks and McAuliffe were NOTHING BUT red meat for his blog-base? He drops this "gaffe" 4 days before the end of the quarter, well more than half-way through the $1.5 million bat, one day before Trippi reveals the to-date total and says, "Let's blow this one out of the water for Gov. Dean!!!"
Rate before this "gaffe" -- Approx. $5,347 per hour
Rate after this "gaffe -- Approx. $14,897 per hour
Granted, the "before" period included the Christmas holiday and the traditionally slow Sat/Sun....but still, nearly a three-fold increase in the rate of contributions?
Just a thought.
