Twenty Four Weeks . . . .
One hundred sixty-one days . . . .
Three thousand six hundred and eighty four hours . . . .
WHAT DID YOU DO THIS WEEK TO ELECT A DEMOCRAT?
Twenty-Four Ways to Help This Week
- Are you a deputy registrar? Most times, it requires a 2 hour training and you are good to go. Of course, you can visit Obama's voter registration page. Here is an excellent diary with links to every state's voter registration requirements.

- Mark off November 3rd, 4th & 5th on your calendar NOW. Take PTO days, plan your vacation around it. It will be important for every one to mobilize those days. I added the 5th because I am usually a bit hung over the next day. Hopefully it will be a cheery hang-over!
- Have you raised money for a candidate? There are some intrepid people on this site raising money for Bill O'Neill who is a great Dem. Looks like they have raised around $300 this weekend. Bump it up! Write a diary about your candidate, get an Act Blue page & viola - you will be a fundraiser.
- Do you live in California or New York? How about coming to Missouri or New Mexico or Ohio for a couple weekends in the fall? If you start planning now, you won't have an "aww that sounds great but I don't have any days off" excuse. Missouri people are having voter registration drives every weekend & we need help!

- Local Democratic Club? Are you active? Have you checked out their website? I bet they have an event this weekend to help a local race. If you don’t have a club, can you start one?
- Who is running in your area? Life may seem dictated by the Presidential, but there is some very earnest person who is right now running for a State house seat. He or she does not have a lot of money and a lot of support, but they are out there walking their neighborhoods and would be very appreciative of a couple hours of your time to walk or call on their behalf? How about instead of giving $50 to Obama - you give $25 to a State rep campaign and $25 to Obama?
- Got a Room? There will be people coming to your state very soon that need a cheap place to stay. They might be paid staff to the campaign but their pay is horrible. They usually work 15 hours a day & you may never see them. But it would be great if they had a nice comfortable room and some leftovers waiting for them in the frige.
- Kid Oakland had two simple suggestions this morning. Join My Barack Obama.com and join the google Netroots for Obama google group.
- Letter to the Editor - Why does your candidate rock? Why does the opposition suck so bad? We have a competitive Congressional race here in the KC area with Kay Barnes going against Sam Graves. Let the people know which is a better choice! The DNC will help you with the letter!
- Bumper Sticker? I currently am sporting an Obama and a Jay Nixon sticker on the back of my mini-van. Does it make a difference? Let me share my story!! I was picking up some equipment from a party rental place for my party suite at the local Dem meeting (Truman Days) and the guy noticed my Obama sticker. He mentioned that he saw him on Oprah & thinks he is "real different." I encouraged him to vote for Obama and he confessed he had a felony from the 70s and had never voted. NO PROBLEM! When I returned the equipment, I brought my voter registration stuff & got him registered to vote!! Chachinng!!

- Donate money!! $10 would make a difference!
- A lot of campaign offices are UP & RUNNING in your area. Call the number on their websites & find out if they have a local office. Jay Nixon has three campaign offices open across the great state of Missouri which will eventually be the HQ for Obama as well. Go by - find out if they need office supplies or garbage cans.
- Turn off those g-d news shows. All of 'em. You will feel better.

- This is a marathon. Can you believe how tired Obama looks? I really can't even imagine. But we can take it a bit easier. Be good to yourself. Eat better, try to take a walk. Get away from the Big Orange Satan for just a bit.
- Protect that vote. Are you a lawyer or just someone who wants to make sure that every vote gets counted? Find out about the laws and the machines in your area. Be the smartest person in the room when it comes to the laws. The DNC is working on this effort as well.
- Spring and summer is "festival" time around here. There are many weekend festivals that you could campaign for your candidate. Make your own flyer & get out there. Guerrilla campaigning is the best - no one needs to tell you what to do - you just it yourself.

- Volunteer to be a poll watcher, a judge or election official. There is usually some training involved but don't we want to be the ones making decisions at the polls?
- Money. Now. Even if you have a quarrel with emilyslist, they know what they are doing. Early Money is Like Yeast - it makes the dough rise.
- The DNC has tools to help people get motivated. Find out what other Dems are doing in your area and across the country!
- Who at work is in your camp? Make sure they are registered & will vote. Don't have any allies? Make friends & convert them - it's so easy at this point. If you are a deputy registrar, you can just whip out the necessary forms!
4 . . . . 3. . . . 2 . . . . YOUR GREAT IDEA HERE!
- Get on that phone and start calling people! NOW!!
This is your . . . . . . . . .
