Call to Action: DailyKos members trying to get control of CNN news cycle Add to Hotlist

According to this diary, the action called for against CNN in this diary has been effective. Haven't heard of this campaign? It started this weekend with a call to action diary on Dkos asking readers to submit their opinions regarding the Wright issue with CNN. They were sick of looking at it. Of course, that isn't the way news cycles are supposed to work. They aren't supposed to be subject to pressure by political groups, and viewers should be angry when they are. This morning John Roberts declared CNN a "Wright-Free Zone," because their viewers just didn't want to hear it. But it wasn't their viewers, per se, it was a small but effective group on Dkos shilling for their preferred candidate. You can fight back, though, using the info in the DailyKos diary.

Dailykos currently Controls CNN!

They are so lazy they stole our list!

You can fight back, using the contact info in the Dkos diary, which I have copied her for your convenience. Contact CNN and tell them that you want the news reported unfilterd by the threats of any politicos, in this case the OFB.

How dare they not show Wright on CNN! Mydd has declared war people!

And it looks a lot like hardcore Bush supporters, doesn't it?

Judging by the reaction to this diary, I'm pissing off all the Wright people, though! Heh. :)

The Mydd person thinks it is funny.

The person brought all the Mydd Obama haters on that thread to. They are going wild just reposting their smears.

Rec'd.

Keep up the good work.

It was fair and impartial, sourced, and provided a call to action for the benefit of the voters within the Democratic Party, by keeping the 4th estate honest.

Someone let the truth slip out there.

By encouraging the MyDD to counter the DKos campaign, you are are not discouraging the influence of political groups on CNN; you are merely countering one political group with another.

That's free speech, and it's beautiful; but don't dress it up as some sort of media independence campaign.

There is no independent tv/radio news media.  They are all in the pockets of the corporate owners.  Without the Fairness Doctrine, viewership/listenership dominate, and I can see things going the way of Internet sites (E.g., MyDD v. DKos) and the way of radio (e.g., Rush v. Air America).

Person who wrote diary can not handle the truth.

Because we aren't campaigning to keep Wright in the news, we're campaigning to keep outside groups OUT. We're not fighting for control of the media narrative, we're fighting for the press to be free so they can follow news stories as the news dictates, not as some fanatics on a website want them to. Big difference there.
