  understanding is that Indiana is an open primary, that means you can request a Republican or Democratic Candidate Ballot regardless of your voter registration (GOP, Dem, or Indy). Yes no? How about NC?

      The BMV has extended HOURS TODAY to help people get the state-issued photoID if they don't already have it. They will also issue a non-driver photo ID if you're not a driver, according to my understanding of it.

      was able to be named as the "Worst Person on the Planet" I think due to his referring to the mayor of Los Angeles as "a shoeshine boy or something".

      Rush needs to remember the last time he felt his oats that it cost him the ESPN gig. Also, even on Hardball they are starting to make fun of Operation Kaos.  Rush and the Dittos are the only ones who believe in it it seems. Funny demographic was Rush's claimed demographic of an audience that is primarily white, male, 30ish or 40ish with an income of $75,000 annually and a college degree.

    You come in, they check your photo I.D., you sign the book with your name and address in it, and you check either D or R.  They then hand you either a D or R ballot, and you vote.  That's it.

•  Longest lines I've ever seen

  It's also the earliest I've ever gone to vote.  Got there right after the polls opened at 6:00 AM.  By the time I got done voting, the lines had grown, and people were still filing in faster than they were getting out.

  I live in Tippecanoe County, IN, and my local voting center is in an area that includes south Lafayette, and unincorporated subdivisions just outside the city limits.  

  The voting center got moved from a smaller church to a scary mega-church which has a gymnasium.  The gym was being put to good use this morning.  I guess by the time I left they were getting close to 70 people in line(s).  All ages and even multiple hues.

  My Obamission complete, I stopped by for some Democracy Doughnuts™ before I came home.  MmmMMmmmm . . . chocolate-iced democracy.

•  Some unexpected good news in Indiana

  Well, I just got done voting in my precinct at 6 a.m.  The turnout was lighter than I expected but the news crews where there.  All of the voters that were in front of me were pulling Democratic ballots.  My wife just got home, and she said that the polling place was getting packed, so that's a good sign.

  One other very shocking piece of news for me... My in-laws apparently voted for Sen. Obama this morning, and I did not see that coming!  I love my in-laws, but I have had some very tense conversations with them over this election... everything from "secretly a muslim" to "doesn't wear a flag pin" to "Reverend Wright" to "illegals are taking all of our jobs"... etc...  I guess I was able to get through to them...!!!
