2-fer diary...Why does Rush hate America and 3 reasons Joe ain't a dem no more

Thu May 08, 2008 at 07:15:09 AM PDT

Ok...two topics today...

starting after the jump

ONE:

Why does Rush hate America? And why isn't he called on it by the media?

I admit I never listen to Rush...makes me physically ill to listen to that much hate. But I did read about his "Operation Chaos" a bit yesterday and it got me to thinking a few things.

One, he is an idiot. Though he likes to think he is starting something, in truth he is constantly changing his position to fit the trends, not the other way around. Last week it was "Vote for Hilary to hurt the dems." Today it is "No really I want Obama as that hurts the dems." Ha, the drugs must be working. Once it became clear Obama is the nominee Rush changes over to "Obama is weak"...and Rush doesn't think people will see right through him? Well probably not as the guy, who was never "small", has recently gotten HUGE. Yikes, try to weigh that carbon footprint...

But mostly I wonder why this "Operation Chaos" isn't really called what it is: "Operation Rush Hates America." Now I know he never went to war, never worn the uniform, never served to protect America. But dang a lot of Americans did and still do. A lot of Americans in the past fought and killed and DIED to get and keep and protect the right to vote for current and future Americans. And this drug-addled viagra-popping degenerate spits on all their efforts, all their scarifices. He laughs at the importance of voting in this free country. He laughs at and hates this free country.

And he should be called on it. Every time any media source mentions Rush and "Operation Chaos" they should called it by its true name, "Operation Rush Hates America" or "Rush and his listeners spit on the soldiers who fought to protect the right to vote in America."

Voting has always been, should always be, one of the most important and sacred things a US citizen can do. People who don't take that task as anything other than that are bad Americans.

TWO:

The lie that I keep hearing from some that Lieberman is a good dem that only disagrees with us on The War.

Well I have three problems with that.

Issue One: Yes he disagrees on The War, but DAMN that is a big issue.

So many lives lost on both sides. So many fathers and mothers taken from their children. So many children taken from their fathers and mothers.

Our country's image torn and dragged through the mud around the world. It will take years to rebuild our standing around the world, if we ever do.

Tons of money lost. Money that could fix bridges and roads, employ people, help with education.

But, aside from this HUGE issue where Joe disagrees with the democratic party, there is soooo much more where he disagrees...and these issues are just as huge.

Issue Two...Who should be the next president? Joe wants a repub, we want a dem. Do you think this is a SMALL ISSUE!!

Hell no. Call him on that Senator Reid.

Issue Three...Supreme Court Justices. Joe may try to say he wants liberal judges on the court, but Issue Two makes him a liar on this issue. If he wants this war, if he wants a repub to further Bush's agenda and basically serve Bush's third term in office, then he wants 2 or 3 or maybe 4!! freaking repub justices added to the court. And that is a SIN.

So, according to some, Joe is actually a dem but wants endless war, wants a repub for president and wants an insane number of conservative judges in our highest court so we can kill Unions and take away Roe and make women into second class citizens? Yeah, sounds like a good dem to me that just disagrees on one issue...gaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh, I think my head may explode.

F that, and F anyone who tries to peddle that crap...Lieberman is NO dem and should never be called a dem and anybody who does should answer issues 2 and 3.

  •  You don't really make an argument (0+ / 0-)

for why you think that Rush hates America.

    Please elaborate.

I think the idea is that America's greatness comes in large part from free discourse and the voting system as a true measure of voter sentiment. If either of these is open to corruption, what makes America American is threatened.

I think that is what he(she?) is saying.

FWIW, diarist, that's a strange username.

      •  To my limited understanding, (0+ / 0-)

what Rush was encouraging people to do wasn't corrupt, or illegal.  It was just mean and spiteful.

Kos himself asked people in Michigan to to cross over and vote Romney to screw with McCain.

Is this any different?  Does Kos hate America?  I don't  think so.

Democracy is a damn messy practice.

Rush is a big windbag, and has plenty of things to be criticized for.  But I don't think he hates America.

        •  You refer to Kos asking people to (0+ / 0-)

cross over in MI to vote for Romney. I find that to be an incredible statement and you'd need to back it up with proof and I'd have to be convinced that this wasn't one of these snarky dairies that are common here when people are expressing frustration and exasperation. If it's true, then my respect for him will be measurably altered.

Rush's suggestion encouraging his listeners to sabotage elections and to undermine the people's will, is very clearly unAmerican and unpatriotic.
It wasn't called Operation Chaos for nothing and he as well as his listeners knows perfectly well that their actions were, if not illegal, vile and despicable, beyond belief.

Naturally, Rush hardly cares for those Americans who have sacrificed for our priviledge to vote. His motives are purely to keep the money flowing. Money over honor and respect for our values as a nation...that has always been Rush's creed.

  •  not illegal, but it spits on what voting is (0+ / 0-)

    all about...

he didn't ask people to vote for who they wanted to lead this country or for who they thought was the best candidate.

he did not do any illegal, but he did spit on what makes this country strong and good and right.

he thinks voting is a GAME...but it isn't a game...and  the freedom to vote was won with blood and lives..

but that isn't something he would understand.
